Akito looked out the window once and jumped. He landed softly on the grass and ran. Hatori would be back at anytime now and he wanted the Dragon to know he won't be coming back. Ever.
The people in the House have been acting as though he was going to die these days. They wanted him to die so they would be free of their curse. This sickness wasn't going away as easily as he expected so he probably was.
He pushed the branches that scratched his face, making him bleed. The crimson was what kept him from going insane. After all, didn't blood mean life? Akito knew that the scent of blood would let the dogs that lived here to smell him so stopped trying to purposefully cut himself. If Shigure found him, then he'll have to return to the so-called cage as Yuki called it.
Akito brushed off his black sleeve and kept walking. It had recently rained so the ground was still wet and soggy. Water fell off leaves and fell on him.
"Should've brought an umbrella…" he muttered to himself. He stopped to catch his breath and sensed that something was following. He pulled himself up and tried to go faster to weaken more. 'Damn this weak body,' he thought and just fell to the ground. Water dripped from the leaves and splashed near him. The blood fell from his face and mixed with the crystal tears. His own.
Akito blinked and angrily swiped at them. 'Stop being weak! What would they say if they saw you like this?' He got up and walked this time. The clouds were gathering above, covering the clear night. The moon shone gentle beams past the branches.
He felt the presence move at once. An arm snatched him by the waist and a hand gripped his jaw. The wind blew violently around and the prick of teeth pierced his throat.
Akito felt blood rush out of him. The being released him and dropped him to the ground. He didn't have to touch his neck to know that he was dying.
It leaned closer, till its breath blew on his cheek. "But don't you see?" it whispered. "Despite your anger to all them, you truly want to die."
Akito closed his eyes and tried breathe. Every take was painful.
"Do you still want to die? I have taken a lot from you. Do you still want to die?" it shifted so its finger stroked his black hair.
Akito looked at his attacker and let his head tip back, exposing his pale neck.
The vampire smiled and sank his teeth into that flesh again.
