This is the second chapter of "Styx and Stones". My new series. In this
following chapter, it is Kurama's death that is ensued. If any of you have
read my previous stories, you will now I have an odd sadistic fascination
with killing all my favorite characters. Oh, well. Enjoy. Reviews are
enjoyed and critics are much needed.
******************************* It was done, and all that was left was the wait.
It began with little cuts, little forays into death, and now, they were deep gashes, bleeding well and true. And I sat, staring at them stupidly, watching the blood flow out and onto the floor.
There had been a spurt, that had scared me, and made me drop the razorblade, now crimson. It splashed me, and I licked some off my lips. It was salty, salty like sweat, yet sweet at the same time. And yet, not quite, because it was acrid, and bitter. Very bitter.
My wrist hurt, but it was a dull hurt. I had cried out but slightly when I'd put the final gash, but now, I could bear it. It was hard to move the hand, so I didn't try. Right now, I just wanted to feel the crimson flow.
I lay down, to better watch the blood pooling. Some of it was already becoming sticky, but there was plenty of viscous stuff for me to play with. I ran my fingers through it, and I was pleased to find that it was warm. Or perhaps, my hands were cold. This should have disturbed me, but it didn't.
I was feeling light-headed now, and I was sure that I wanted to take a quick nap. My wrist didn't feel nearly all that bad anymore. In fact, I barely felt the pain in it anymore. That was good. I didn't like to hurt.
But now, my chest was starting to hurt. There was an odd tightness, and I could hear a pounding in my ears.
KABOOM. KABOOM. KABOOM.
It wasn't until I heard the third KABOOM, that I realized that it was my heartbeat. Why did it have to be so loud? I wanted to sleep, and it wasn't helping. My head was starting to ache to the same rhythm.
Oh, but I'd always been good at sleep. I shut my eyes, and rocked myself to the beat. KABOOM. Breathe in. KABOOM. Breathe out. KABOOM. Breathe in. Yes, a nap would be nice. I'm just so tired.
KABOOM. Breathe in. KABOOM. Breathe out. KABOOM. Breathe in. KABOOM. Breathe out...
