Goodnight, may your dreams be so happy and your
Head lite with the wishes of a sandman and a night light
Be careful not to let the bedbugs sleep tight nestled in your covers
The sun shines but I don't
A silver rain will wash away
And you can't tell, it's just as well
Goodnight, my love, to every hour in every day
Goodnight, always, to all that's pure that's in your heart

The right thing:
When he stepped into the cab everything changed somehow, he wasn't the man
he was when he came here and he still wasn't sure if he'd changed for the
better. His ride down the airport was just like he expected, it was a long
boring ride and all he could think of was her. She was still on his mind
and he knew she wasn't leaving any time soon.
He was about to say goodbye to this side of the country when he heard his
name and when he turned around he found her calling out his name.
She knew she shouldn't have gone there but something was pulling at her,
something deep and she couldn't control it. She couldn't stay away, but she
knew that every step that she takes wasn't another mistake.
There they were, both breathless and both not knowing what to say to each
other, but then again there were no words to explain how they were feeling.
He asked her why she came and she told him she had no idea, and then there
was a silence again, a somewhat uncomfortable silence but she broke it with
words that came as a shock to both of them.
"I don't want you to leave"
She knew when she said it, she actually told him how she felt and she
didn't know if he felt the same, they didn't know each other, not even a
bit. They met one long time ago, they didn't know each others name and even
now she pretended not to know his just to keep the feeling that she had,
the feeling she still has.
When she told him she didn't want him to leave he felt his heart get
broken, he knew that how much she pleaded he had to leave, but he didn't
want too, he wasn't even sure he could.
She was afraid he would leave but somewhere deep inside she knew he hadn't
had a choice, he would leave her and there was nothing in her power to stop
him.
He told her he couldn't stay, things would never work out. The way they
felt was just some kind of chemistry they only felt because of the things
that happend between them, it wasn't suppose to happen and that's why it
makes it so exciting.
He only told her that to comfort her cause he knew that what he just told
her was a complete lie. What he felt wasn't because of the excitment, it
was because he fell in love with this complete stranger, he didn't fell a
week ago, he fell when he saw her on the side of the road in the middle of
the night a year ago.
She knew what he was thinking and she felt exactly the same, what she felt
wasn't because this wasn't the way it suppose to end or even start, it was
because it was right, everything they had shared felt right.
Tears were forming in the corner of her eyes and she crashed her head
against his chest and she wrapped her arms tight around him, praying this
way he wouldn't leave.
And he almost didn't. When she clung to him, his heart started to race and
his knees strated to weaken. He felt her tears made his shirt wet, he felt
his heart aching and his body longing for her. Even though she was so close
she has never been more distant from he then she was now. He knew that if
he left now it would be forever, he knew that if he would look at her face
now it would be the last time he would see it.
When she lifted her head from his chest, her eyes were red and he tookd her
face in his hand, wiping the tears away.
He told her not to cry, he told her he would always remember her and he
wanted to tell her that he would always love her but he didn't. He just
kept looking at her face and kissed her lips one more time, taking in as
much as he could.
In that moment they were once again two strangers turning into dust, there
was just the two of them clinging to each other, needing each other and not
wanting to let go of each other.
And then he pulled back and walked away because he knew that if he stayed
one more second he would stay forever.
3 years later:
There's a woman sitting in a chair with a little girl in her lap. The
little girl is peacefully asleep with a big grin on her face, her mother
lifts her up and carry's her to bed.
It's the woman who said goodbye to the love of her life 3 years ago.
When he walked away from her at the airport she turned around and walked
away in the opposite direction, the one she knew was the right one.
When she came home that night her boyfriend questioned her and once again
they got into a big fight, he hit her again and she ran. She ran as hard as
she could hoping she would bump into the man that left her life earlier
that day. But she didn't, she never saw him again, well that's not
completly true, she saw him every single day. In her memory and in the
little girl called her daughter.
A couple of weeks after she broke up with her boyfriend she found out she
was pregnant and she knew there wasn't any possibility it was his. There
was only one person who could be the father, the one she belonged to and
the one who was gone. She didn't know what had become of him, she heard he
got married to his girlfriend and after 6 months he was divorced. According
to his uncle it was because she found out he had cheated on her a year ago.
When her stepfather told her she turned red, excused herself and ran away.
She didn't know why, she was somewhat relieved he was divorced. When he
told her his little nephew got married her heart got smashed into a
thousand pieces and when they told her he was divorced it magically turned
back to one piece. She never told him about their child, she never found
the courage or need to tell him.
She is happy now, she and her daughter are doing perfectly fine, they moved
to a bigger city. She dated a couple of men but she always compared them to
the mysterious man and none of them could compete with him.
Every night when she brought her daughter to bed she would tell her about a
woman who was unhappy and how one man completely changed her life.
