Oliver's Revenge

Good Night Gone Bad

The phone woke Luke up. He had been sleeping since he had gotten home. He had spent most of the night with Seth and Ryan at the Cohen house and was really tired. They always had fun, whether it was Playstation or just talking. He got up and answered.

"Hello?"

"Is Luke there?"

"Hey Seth," Luke replied tiredly.

"Luke, can you be ready for me to pick you up in twenty minutes?" asked Seth with a concerned tone in his voice.

"What's wrong man?" asked Luke looking at the clock. "What could be going on at 2:30 in the morning?"

"The police called just a few minutes ago," said Seth. "Right after you left Ryan decided he had to talk to Marissa. He took the Range Rover. A police officer was following him and saw it pull over. Two people got out and it appeared that one stabbed the other. The officer turned on his lights and the one ran."

"Ryan stabbed someone?!?" asked Luke is shock.

"No man," replied Seth. "Someone stabled Ryan. The weird part is that Ryan didn't pick anyone up on his way... the officer was on his route and was behind Ryan the entire time, and no one got in the car before he left."

"I'll be ready man," Luke said. "You call Summer, and I'll call Marissa."

"Alright," agreed Seth.

The doctor walked out of the Emergency Room and threw his blood stained gloves in the trash. Another doctor pulled the bed with Ryan on it out of the room and to an elevator. The first doctor walked toward the waiting room.

"Mr. and Miss. Cohen?" the doctor called out.

Sandy and Kirsten shot up from their seats and rushed to the doctor. They had been waiting for over an hour as they worked on Ryan. They hadn't heard a thing on his condition and were worried sick. They loved Ryan so much and they didn't want anything to happen to him.

"How is he?" asked Sandy, his arm around his sobbing wife.

"Mr. Atwood is in critical condition. He was stabbed five times in the torso and lost a lot of blood at the scene." the doctor began. "He appeared to be stabbed by a hunting knife, at least a good seven inches long."

"Oh dear God!" screamed Kirsten.

"We repaired much of the damage down here," the doctor said, "but they have taken him up to the OR to repair the remaining damage to his internal organs."

Their hearts sank. They never thought they would have to deal with such a problem as the fact that one of their sons would be stabbed or hurt like this in any way. Kirsten's knees went out and she fell to the floor. Sandy just stood in shock at the news.

"Do you know if he'll survive," asked Kirsten from the floor.

"We don't know," said the doctor. "We had a surprise in the room down here that was kind of odd."

"What happened?" asked Sandy.

"Mr. Atwood's heart stopped beating for a moment," said the doctor, "but before we could do anything to resuscitate him, it began beating stronger than it had before it stopped."

"How long before we know?" asked Sandy, trying to help his wife to her feet.

"A couple of hours," replied the doctor. "You might want to get his friends and other family here before then."

"Their on their way," replied Kirsten.

"Good," said the doctor. "I'll let you know if there is any change."

The doorbell rang. Marissa got up off the couch and slowly made it to the door. She was sleepy and it was only 2:25 in the morning. She couldn't think of anyone who would come and ring her bell that early.

The door slid open, "Marissa?"

"Oliver..." Marissa said in a dazed voice, "OLVIER!?!?!"

Oliver looked at her and smiled, "Yes, it's me."

"I thought you were in the hospital?" asked Marissa concerned.

Oliver smiled his evil smile, "I was, but I had some unfinished business first."

Just then she realized his hands were hiding behind his back. She backed up a step and saw the blood on his clothes. She began to freak out. Who had he hurt? Why had he broken out from the hospital to hurt them? Why was he here?

"You're scaring me, Oliver," said Marissa.

"He's gone, Marissa," said Oliver with a laugh. "He won't bug you anymore!"

"Who's gone?" asked Marissa completely lost and confused.

"Ryan," Oliver said with a smirk finally bringing his hands forward.

She saw the hunting knife, seven inches long and covered in blood. His hands had been completely soaked in it. His evil smile just grew more and more. She ran upstairs.

"Dad!!!" she shouted as she pounded on his door.

Jimmy Cooper ran out of his room, "What is it, Marissa?"

"Oliver killed Ryan!!!" she screamed as she sank to the floor.

Oliver heard that and ran. He dropped the knife to the floor, it hit the ground with a thud as he ran away. He just kept smiling as he ran. The one man that had stood in his way with Marissa was finally gone... he couldn't help but smile.

Jimmy grabbed the phone and dialed 911, "Hi, this is Jimmy Cooper. I need to report a stabbing. A young man named Oliver appeared at our door with a blood-covered knife. He claimed to have killed a friend of my daughters. Please come quickly!"

Marissa sat in the middle of the upstairs hallway, crying. She couldn't believe that Ryan was dead. She just couldn't believe it. She didn't want to believe it. But there was the evidence sitting in the front doorway, Oliver's knife with Ryan's blood. She cried.

Her dad came up and hugged her close as they waited for the police. He knew how much Ryan meant to her. They were never just "friends", everyone knew that. But to think that she would have to go through another tragedy again, killed him inside.

The Cohen's Range Rover rolled up into Marissa's driveway. There were police cars all around. The police were talking with them as Seth and Summer made their way into the house.

"Coop," Summer started as she looked around, "Is everything alright?"

"Oliver showed up here," said Marissa. "He said he killed Ryan. He had the knife and the blood all over it!"

Seth ran over to Marissa's side and rested her head on his shoulder, "He's not dead Marissa."

"WHAT?!?" is all she could muster from all the crying she had done.

"My mom called me from the hospital just over an hour ago," Seth started. "A police officer saw the whole thing. He called for an ambulance and had Ryan taken to the Hospital. He's fine for now. That's why were here. We are going and we knew you would want to go."

Marissa looked at her father. Jimmy could only smile slightly and give her a big hug. He was so grateful that Ryan was all right. Had he been the only one who noticed that Seth had said, "for now"? That bothered him, but he knew she should be there.

"Go on, Hunny," said Jimmy. "I'll stay here and talk to the police.

"Thanks, Dad," Marissa hugged him and ran to her room. She grabbed some clothes and changed. She was ready in a flash.

She got in the car, which Seth had picked up from the crime scene. They drove off toward the hospital to see their friend. Seth knew that Ryan may not make it, everyone else hadn't picked up on those hints so he knew time was short. He sped the whole way there.
