Oliver's Revenge

Back Again
"We're Ryan Atwood's guardians," Kirsten said to the receptionist
"He's in trauma room three," said the receptionist, pointing in the direction of the room.
Sandy, Kirsten, Seth, Summer, and Marissa walked toward the room and quietly pushed the door open. They saw a doctor and nurse checking on him. Ryan smiled at them when they walked in.
"Ryan!" Marissa said as she ran to his side.
"It's alright," Ryan said trying to calm her down. "I'm alright."
Sandy and Kirsten walked out with the doctor and nurse. Seth and Summer joined Marissa by the bed. They were all smiling at the fact Ryan was still alive.
"Hey man," Seth said. "Your plan worked."
"And it only hurt two people," said Summer with a smile.
Marissa looked at Summer and Seth, "What plan?"
"The plan Ryan thought up which got Oliver caught," Summer said.
"Unfortunately I didn't plan the part of being shot," said Ryan with a chuckle.
Marissa hugged him tight, too tight. Ryan winced a little bit. Everyone was happy it was finally over. Oliver had hurt them for the last time. He would be locked up for good and with security now, for sure.
Kirsten walked back into the room, "I have some bad news."
"What's wrong?" asked Ryan.
"It's Oliver," said Kirsten walking over to the bed.
"What happened to him?" asked Seth.
"Unfortunately," Kirsten started. "His wound was fatal. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital. Ryan was lucky Oliver didn't make him lose his balance."
Everyone was silent, except Ryan, "Memorial?"
Kirsten looked surprised Ryan asked, "Two days."
"Do I get to leave soon?"
"In a couple of hours, Ryan." Kirsten said.
"I want to be at the memorial," Ryan said, sincerely.
Everyone was in awe. Oliver had not just shot Ryan, but stabbed him too. He still wanted to be at Oliver's memorial service? This didn't sound like they Ryan they knew.
"Are you sure?" asked Marissa.
"Yes," Ryan said, "he might have been nuts, but he's still a human."
Everyone smiled at his comment. Summer hugged Ryan and give him a kiss on the cheek before she left. Seth and Ryan did their handshake, and Ryan gave Marissa a kiss. Ryan wouldn't be able to leave till 9:00 A.M. and it was just after 3. They were going home to get some rest. Ryan had some time to think.
* * * * * * * * * * *
The Memorial service had been emotional. Everyone was silent, and very few people cried. Ryan had spoken about how they had met and even though Oliver had tried to kill him twice, he still wished Oliver hadn't died.
The reception was quiet. Seth and Summer sat at a table, eating. Ryan and Marissa sat across from them, drinking pop and staring off into space. Luke had stayed home, no one knew where he was. Sandy and Kirsten were talking with Jimmy Cooper and Oliver's parents that had finally showed up in his life… or at the end of it.
"So," Seth said, trying to break the silence.
"Seth," Ryan said, "No words, not right now. He did need help, but no one deserves this."
Marissa grabbed Ryan's arm, and rested her head on his shoulder. Summer hugged Seth, tears running down her cheek. Marissa soon joined her. Ryan wasn't jealous that Marissa cried for Oliver, had Ryan been the crying type… he would have too. He knew that on matter now nuts Oliver had been, he had still been apart of his life and that he had changed it forever. His wound still hurt, but he ignored it.
Marissa was his focus now… now more than ever. Seth and Summer would have their problems, hopefully not near as bad as Ryan and Marissa had had it with Oliver.
Ryan turned his head, and whispered into Marissa's ear, "I love you."
She looked up at him, kissed him on the lips and said, "I love you too."
Seth and Summer shared a kissed. After that, Ryan began talking about the "fun" times they had had with Oliver. They would all certainly miss him, and definitely never forget him. He had changed their lives, they were no longer innocent kids, but adults, adults that had a long, hard life to live. They knew their lives had just begun.
