I awoke like any other day. The sun was shining, the birds chirping, and the rooster crowing. My grandfather was standing at my doorway, watching my every move.
"Oh hey grandpa, what's up?" I asked as I stumbled out of bed. "Are we starting early today or something?"
"Yeah something like that." My grandfather replied. My grandfather is the legendary military general, General Mizen. He was known throughout the world as a great tactician and sword fighter. He was a key member in the war against Doma. In fact, he led the final battle against Doma and sealed him away forever. Now he is a retired old man who teaches swordmanship in his spare time. He doesn't take on many students though. I am one of his only ones.
I arose from bed and put my equipment on. Fifty pounds of armor, plus a ten pound wooden sword. My grandfather tells me that the armor helps me train. So I walked out and started the day's training. I would usually start out with fifty slashes of the sword. This would raise my endurance and strength level. Then I would practice my thrusting and slashing skills on the dummy. I have been an apprentice under my grandfather for only about three years, but I have mastered skills that would normally take years to master. I guess that I have my grandfather's skills. Oh yeah. My name's Alm. Anyways back to my story. I was working very hard. I was literally beating the stuffing out of the dummy until my grandfather called my name. I walked out of the small hut and saw a group of guys huddling around the entrance to our property. My grandfather told me that I had company. I had never seen these guys before so I approached softly and secretly. I rested my hand on my sword just in case any problems broke out. My plan was quickly changed when I saw they they held real swords and the biggest one had a spear. I talked to the biggest guy there. It just so happened that he was in charge of this little expedition. His name was Ruka and he was a soldier in the Sofian army. He was organizing a group of people to rebel against the Emperor of Sofia. The people were tired of being treated like crap. But they needed a leader. I mean Ruka was good, but he's no general. So they came here.
"I heard that the great General Mizen lives here. Am I correct?" Ruka inquired.
"Yes you are correct. May I ask what your business is with him." I replied.
"
