CHAPTER 2: A plan that bounced back

Jisue Hospital

Dawn

Everything is the same...

The view, the lights, the place and where I lay. Nothing seems to change except for the calmness I am feeling. Just as once, I open my eyes, the memories of yesterday returns to my mind. The events that happened before I got here...it all just belonged to the past....my worthless past.

It was gruesome to remember that I have a family or should I say a stupid clan. Each of them consists of one unique feature that I hated the most...their stubbornness. It seems that they're living out of the real world. They always love to tell me to stay inside their lines. I paid no attention to them... I know there's always something better on the other side, just like what happened last night.

I maybe a fool to remember such useless events, but that girl. That girl woke something in me. Her aura is different and that look she gave me. There is something in her eyes that hit me. Something that I wish to find out.

I smiled as plot turned into my mind.

What if I call her? Nah..too absurd and besides I don't know her name just yet.

I was on those thoughts when her face flashed on my imagination briefly. Yeah her cherry like face matched with emerald orbs. This night, just this night I will find out who she is. Ah, wonderful...

And that was how I found myself walking again on the same corridor. Glad I was able to sneak up on that stupid nurse. I crept silently, careful not for anyone to notice my presence.

There I saw the same picture of the corridor. The strange room, the open window and the corner. I looked around to make sure if no one followed me.

I looked at the empty space and stared at the knob. This is it...it's now or never. Then there it was the feeling of coldness. Yes, that same mysterious aura. Once again I saw a shadow...it was her. When did she come out anyway?

I turned around finding her presence and the same smile and her green eyes looking at me intently with the same expressive gaze (Translation: So are you here to annoy me by opening that door?).

I gulped.

"H-hello" I slapped myself mentally. Talk about saying hello while doing that dirty scheme!?

I wished I could do something to get out of here. My mind was telling me to run and go away. This is all going wrong. But my feet remained unmoving. I was frozen like ice. Cold sweat started dripping from my body! I have to act now!

Oh no! What next!?

I was expecting the worst. Her inquisitive look trailed inside my mind. Like it was eating me out of embarrassment. I felt myself blush again. But then again, what I expected became true.

Her look became whimsical and she held out a surprising laugh. Then it turned to a mocking laugh. It progressed to holding the belly laugh then into a soft but sweet smile. That made me beat red!

She looked at me expectantly of what I will do next.

Don't just stand there dammit! Talk!

"H-hello! I-I am L-Li...Syaoran Li."

Phew! That was nice...although I wasn't speaking clearly enough. I held out a hand for her. She was about to give me her hand when I heard someone shouting:

"Mr. Li Syaoran!!!!"

Damn! Just great! The nurse is looking for me like stupid!

"It seems like our meeting was cut a bit short." I said " Maybe if you could tell me your—"

"It's Sakura. Kinimoto Sakura." she chuckled.

I bowed down as an act of apology. After all, I can see that she was quite offended by what I tried to do.

" I am really sorry about that."

"Who are you talking to Mr. Li!?"

Huh? Was I talking to myself?

I looked up again finding no one but the nurse in front of me shooting a look of daggers at me.

Now that's strange.

And so it was it again. I sighed as I let my nurse assist me back at my room. However, I feel satisfied.

Now I know her name.

Sakura...Sakura Kinimoto.
