Summary: a dark main awaits his dark maiden one night, and muses over her past, present, and future with him.

The night was unsettled, highly it seemed. Everything had gone wrong. So wrong. It wasn't supposed to end this way. She was supposed to make it out safe, come back to me with that evil smile and playful glint in her dark eyes. But she never came. It was past midnight now, her designated time. She hated tardiness. I'd been waiting for over an hour.

She was always a favorite of his. He used her for his own sick pleasures. She'd often come home sick; green with disgust at what she'd been forced to do. She'd always play along. She loved the hunt. The smell of fear on her prey. She was supposed to be the huntress, not the hunted.

But after every revel, when all were dismissed and returned back to their pitiful lives full of distrust and lies, she remained. She remained with him, alone in the dark. He knew, of course. She was mine. Her husband meant nothing to her. He was merely a fortune locked away, biding its time in a cold Gringotts chamber until his death. She loathed him.

The ark Lord knew she was mine. I was the only one for whom her heart sung. Her face would glow at mere mention of me. And it angered him. Perhaps anger isn't the word, it infuriated him. He broke her. Over and over again. And he would always kindly remind me before I was dismissed:

"What's your is mine, Severus."

She would always return to me. Cold, frightened, and disgusted. But this night was different. There was a sad silence in the air. The sound of finality, as it were. It was all over for my love. She was gone. And so, was my heart with her.

I turned my back on the cold night, accepting the fate of my Bella. My beautiful.
