Love of the Sun
The dawn broke over the hill and continued it's infinite cycle of day and night. A young girl awoke to the sun's blinding presence. She yawned sleepily and stretched her arms above her head. She heard a faint rustling not too far off and immediately turned her head to see what had made the noise.

He watched her long raven hair flow from her elaborate head, down her back until it rested about halfway down. The sun was casting it's delicate morning rays onto her beauty which had been there before, only causing it to radiate more. He wondered how someone could look so beautiful.
Suddenly she turned her head and looked directly at him. She smiled warmly and he jumped down from the tree he had previously been occupying. She rose from her seated position and walked to him.

She looked into the depths of his glowing amber orbs. She saw flickers of emotion buried in their depths and it made her heart want to reach out and touch his. Suddenly the eyes before her hardened and she saw the ears on the head of the man before her swivel back to catch a sound.
Suddenly he tore away from her. She reached out her hand and touched his arm in a soothing motion. He looked at her again and the sorrow in his eyes made her want to shed tears. She didn't understand why he was acting so strangely.

He couldn't stand to look into her eyes any more. The pools of blue, tinged slightly with silver made him want to swim in them and get lost in their depths. He thought she deserved better than him.
He couldn't have been more wrong.

"Inu Yasha" she breathed. He turned again, the slowly rising sun making her look like an angel that had descended down to earth just for him. She smiled again.
"I love you" she whispered so low he could hardly hear it. She thought it had been a mistake for admitting her feelings to him. She may have been correct n this assumption, but was proved wrong when he pulled her to him. She stared into his eyes and tears started to form in her own.

"I love you Kagome" came his whispered answer. He pulled her against his chest and held her tightly as the sun slid further into the sky with every passing moment.

When he released his hold on her slightly, she drew back to look him in the eyes again. H then lowered his head and pressed his lips delicately to those before him.
For hours to the pair it seemed they stood there, against the backdrop of the rising sun.
When the kiss was finally broken, they continued to stand, content in being wrapped in their lover's embrace. For that is what we all really desire. To be held by those we love and those who love us in return.
