200 Word Drabble: Irony
Angel felt a warmth flood over his body as the blue fairy touched her wand to his head. He put his hand to his heart. It was beating.
"I'm... I'm a real boy!" Angel said, near tears.
"Yes Angel," replied the blue fairy. "The Powers That Be have seen the good you've done for humanity. You have balanced the scales and we decided to reward you for your efforts."
"I'm... human?" Angel asked. "Alive?"
"Yes, you are mortal," the blue fairy replied. "Good luck, Angel."
Angel stared at where the blue fairy had been standing. He could hardly believe it. He was breathing. His heart beating!
Ecstasy
Angel had to get to the phone. He had to call... everyone he ever met! He was halfway down the stairs when he tripped in his excitement and tumbled the rest of the way down the flight of stairs.
As Angel hit the floor, his neck gave a sickening crack. Angel was alive for a total of 2 minutes and 23 seconds before he fell down the stairs and snapped his neck.
And Died
Again
Hey, the Powers That Be had a strange sort of sense of humor. Damn, that's irony for you....
