ENDLESS OCEAN

"So what if I didn't tell you if I was gone to Makkai." Hiei told
Kurama, before turning to leave. "I just figured you'd do what a normal
freind would... or at least have told Yukina. I'm not angry or anything."
Kurama answered. "Hn" Hiei said and fliked out of the room. Kurama sighed
and sat back down, his mind begining to wander until it struck an idea. He
took out a pencil and paper and began to write a poem as if some one had
recited it aloud to him. The words formed in his mind one by one, and he
wrote:

Hiei,
As I look across the ocean,
I wait for you to show emotion,
Like waiting for the world to end,
I wait for you my truest friend.

Though life is filled with hard ships, doubt,
I know your emotion wants to sprout,
Like the tiny seed that becomes a tree.
I'm filled with curiosity,
Of what your not showing from deep in side,
What could make you want to hide?

Been waiting for you to shed your pride,
Let flow freely the pain inside.
I've run till I can't any more,
And find myself on a beaches shore.

As I look across the ocean,
I so wish for you to show emotion.
Just enough to let me see,
That I was dreaming; you'd never leave.

Like waiting for the world to end,
I wait for you to be my friend.
But now as night begins to fall,
I fear you will not come at all.

I turn to leave, you catch my eye,
So far away I fear I'll cry.
You turn to leave no tears in sight,
But some emotions show tonight.

No single word is ever said,
And not one tear is ever shed.
But somehow I have looked inside,
Seen some of what you tried to hide.

And now I'm glad I saw your heart,
A little bit such the smallest part,
But a little bit goes a long way,
I know that you'll come back some day.

As we look across the ocean,
Me and the one with no emotion.
At least not enough to make him cry,
a single tear it burns my eye.

But every thing will be all right,
'Cause it's the end of the endless night.
And now I've seen the faintest light,
and know that it will be alright.

Like waiting for the world to end,
But this dream's over truest friend.
You fold your arms and fall asleep,
You're trying not to make a peep.

Good morning one without emotion,
I never thought I'd see you smile.
But laying there with out a notion,
I see it... hope it lasts a while.

Kurama sees Hiei flit into his window sill and leaves the room. Hiei
looks over at the poem and begins to read. Kurama walks back in later to
find Hiei gone but his poem has been moved. He picks it up, to put it back,
and a black tear gem falls off of the bottom of the page. "Hiei" he says
and then he notices a scribbled down poem on a piece of paper that he
didn't see before.

Fox
You may see an endless ocean,
And you may think I have emotion.
If that's the case then you'd be right,
It's something I can no longer fight.

You showed me what I have inside
The thing I truly wished to hide.
Even from my self, I see,
Thanks for being there for me.
