Chapter 2: How Could It Be?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"S-Sesshoumaru?" Rin questioned herself confusedly, eyes glued to the white-haired, amber-eyed, guy sitting at the table. Hearing the girl say
something, he looked up suddenly, meeting her brown eyes. "Sesshoumaru?" The guy asked, "Who's that?" His voice was calm, holding no
emotion. Somehow, that voice was familiar to Rin. "Y-you, you're Sesshou-" Rin closed her eyes a minute, trying to focuse her thinking, "N-no, it
can't be. Wait, what's your name?" Rin opened her eyes again, to look at the all-too-familar face of the guy. "It's Senshakona." He told her, just as
confused as Rin was, "Most people just call me Sensha though." Suddenly, all the memories cam back to Rin. Sesshoumaru and Jaken taking her
in when she was in need. All the places Sesshoumaru took her to. But then.... that night. The night the demon came. Then she saw Sesshoumaru
and Jaken's body sprawled out on the ground, lieing in pools of blood. Rin closed her eyes, trying to block out the memory. "No. No! Not my
Sesshoumaru-Sama!" She cried out, burrying her face in her hands. Sensha just watched her akwardly, wondering what was happening. Rin stood
up quickly, and darted out of the cafeteria, completely forgeting her lunch. People's eyes turned to stare at Rin as she ran down the halls, eyebrows
raised, whispers going on among them. Everything was spinning in Rin's sight, and it felt like she couldn't run straight. She stopped at some lockers,
and leaned against them, trying to brace herself. Things started growing dark, and before she knew it, the ground had raced up to meet her. That
was the last thing she remembered before she woke up in one of the uncomfortable beds in the hospital. "W-where am I?" She questioned. Everything
was a blur, and nothing was focused. It was like she was seeing double of everything. Slowly, very slowly, everything seemed to come together until
she saw three figures standing over her. Kagome, Inuyasha, and Kotaka. "Rin, are you alright? You passed out at school. We were so worried when
we found out." Kagome said, bending down to Rin's eye level. "Why, why did I pass out?" She asked, but the moment she said it, she didn't need
an answer. She knew. "Sesshoumaru," She whispered, "No, Sesshoumaru!" Kagome stole a worried glance over at Inuyasha, who returned it as
well. "You've been saying his name for the past couple of hours. You kept pleading him not to die." Inuyasha said to her, all emotion hidden in from
his voice. Rin suddenly remembered Sensha. He had the strangest resemblence to Sesshoumaru. So maybe his silvery hair wasn't as long as
Sesshoumaru's was, but his eyes. They were so familiar. Okay, so they looked like Inuyasha's as well, but still, there was just something that reminded
her of Sesshoumaru. What it was though, Rin couldn't determine. Maybe it was his cool, collected voice, or the way there was no emotion showing
on his face at all. Something told her heart that that guy was Sesshoumaru.
Rin went home later that day, and a few days after, she went back to school. Kagome and Rin were still worried about her, but after insisting that
she was better for the fiftyith time, they finally allowed Rin to go. Now, the question that faced her, was what the other kids at school would say.
What Sensha would say. The thought about Sesshoumaru's and Sensha's resemblence was constantly in Rin's mind since she passed out, but she
never came to a conclusion.
Rin arrived at school with five minutes to spare. She walked to her locker, pretending not to notice all of the stares she was getting. She reached
her locker and put in the combination, then opened it up. She got down on her knees, placed her backpack on the ground, and got everything out.
She shoved the stuff in her locker, along with her backpack, and got out her stuff for her English class. She stood up and was about to walk off, when
she noticed Sensha standing in front of her. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw him, and she couldn't help but think of him as Sesshoumaru. "Um,
hi." He said to her, fiddling around with his thumbs. "Hello." Rin replied quietly, looking down towards the ground, not wanting to meet his eyes. She
was afraid that if she did, all the memories of Sesshoumaru would return. "I heard about what happened, and I uh, just wanted to see if you were
okay. I never caught your name though." Sensha said to her, noticing how embarassed she seemed. "It's Rin, and yes, I'm fine." She said to him, looking up for a
second, but quickly lowering her gaze again. "Well, it's nice to meet you Rin, and I'm glad you're okay." He told her, "Well, maybe I'll see you later.
Bye Rin." He gave a slight wave before turning around and walking off. "Bye..." Rin whispered quietly, "...Sesshoumaru." 'Great, now I'm calling him
Sesshoumaru.' She thought to herself. She just couldn't get over how alike both of them were. Besides the age difference, and the length of their
hair, Rin could easily mistake Sensha for Sesshoumaru.
But it couldn't be.... Could it?
