New Life, New World... One Familiar Face

Disclaimer: How many times do I have to tell you?! It's just tearing me apart inside! *Starts crying hysterically* *Mutters* I. Do. Not. Own. Inuyasha, the Cast, the Theme Song, or anything else having to do with it. Happy now?! I said it! *Sob* *Quits crying* But, I do own a block of cheese, a potatoe, and this story.

Inuyasha: When will you learn, baka?! You do not own any of those items above, except for maybe the story!!! They own you!!! You're the one that obeys their every command, and fulfills their every wish. How long does it take you to get that through your head?! I'm not even sure it reaches your brain!!! And also, *blah blah blah*...

Whisper: Well, while I'm trying to tune Inuyasha out, you can read the story. So, here you go! *Hands story over.*

Chapter 4: Part of Myself Wants to Believe It, Yet the Other Part Doesn't

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Rin got home later that day, she went straight to her room to think. She needed to remember him. She needed to remember Sesshoumaru. It was just something
that had to be done. Rin knew the memories were somewhere in her mind, yet it was as if she lost them. There were bits and pieces that she remembered, but they didn't
make sence. One minute, she was remembering the first day she met Sesshoumaru, and the next, there he was, on the ground, d-. No, she didn't want to remember that.
Every time that memory came to her mind, her heart ached like nothing else before. Though, whenever she was thinking about Sesshoumaru or Sensha, it always ended at
her remembering Sesshoumaru's death. The night the demon came.
*Flashback*
This demon was more powerful than any others they had come across before. There was something different about the it, and Rin felt it. "Rin, get out of her now!"
Sesshoumaru yelled to her, "I'll come and get you after it's dead!" Rin raced away, eager to obey Sesshoumaru's command, yet there was something gnawing in her heart.
Something telling her that there was something that wasn't right. It took her a few minutes to realize that Sesshoumaru and Jaken didn't have a chance against it, but when
she did realize, she turned around immediately, and ran off, desperate to warn Sesshoumaru... before it was too late. Just as Rin reached the clearing, she saw
Sesshoumaru's body falling to the ground, and Jaken's body already there. The demon, somehow, had already died, but not before killing Jaken, and seriously wounding
Sesshoumaru. Rin raced up to him, crying his name out. Tears streaked her face, and dripped onto his body as she bent over him. She stayed there for a while, her head
laying against his chest, moving up and down with each of his ragged breaths. Her tears soaked through his clothes as she lay there, and she tried to talk to him, give him
some reassuring words, but no matter how hard she tried, her voice wasn't working properly. She knew that any moment, he would fade into eternal darkness forever. The
only thing she could do, was beg for him to stay alive, and just to stay there with him, wanting him to go to rest peacefully. Then it happened. The thing that was bound to
happen. He closed his eyes for the final time, and Rin ran off, never wanting to return there again.
*End Flashback*
It took Rin a while to realize what she was thinking about, and that she was crying silently. She looked around her room from her place on her bed, looking at everthing, but
not taking anything in. The only thing she could see was Sesshoumaru's body laying there on the ground, covered in blood. She tried to force it out of her mind, but much
to her dismay, it was still there. She curled herself into a ball on her bed, and eventually cried herself to sleep.
Her dream was filled with many images. There was Sesshoumaru, as well as Sensha. There were monsters. Demonish monsters everywhere. And then there was a world.
It was a different world, like one she couldn't remember, yet it was familiar. It was the world where the demons and mosters lived. Where they roamed the lands,
slaughtering things without a care at all. There were many temples, many forests, and many villages. This all seemed so familiar though. Something was telling her she'd
been here before. And then she saw it. The clearing. The clearing that was currently empty, but would eventually carry the dead bodies of two beings. The clearing that
would always change Rin's life.
Rin awoke suddenly, with a cold sweat. There was little light in her room, and she realized that it was probably evening. "Rin!" Kagome's voice carried up to Rin's room,
"Rin, dinner's ready!" Rin got out of bed, smoothed out the wrinkles in her clothes, and made her way to the door. Before she left though, she made up her mind; she
needed to ask Sensha something.
