THE LOST SOULS STORY ARC

Updated 1/31/2019

Changes have been made to There Will Come Soft Rain, The Encounter of Lost Souls, The Parting of Lost Souls, and The Descent of Lost Souls. This was done due to the following reasons:

Simplified the sentences, in efforts to make it flow more smoothly. The manga series is over, and the way it ends changes the course of where I want my story arc to go. It is my intention to make it as an adventure along the lines where the manga would go, just like I wanted to in the beginning.

As a result, the following happened to the three stories:

Expect more conflict and interaction between the characters. Expect that the story will make you think more as to why a character would act or say things in a certain way. Expect that the story changed a little - believe me, it's for the best.

If you're interested in knowing these changes, I invite you to read the stories at your convenience and constructively let me know...

If the shorter sentences and "smoother" writing style is better OR do you like my old way of writing (which others have noted as "flowery"). Thanks a lot for your patience, as well as your support.

In the beginning of my journey as a fanfiction writer, I've encountered much virtual interaction from all sides regarding Emrys and her Mary Sueness. I had (and still have) a group who loved her, and yes I have a group who believed that she is a Sue and for me to just openly admit to it to placate their need of being right...and there was a group that basically dedicated a good amount of years cyber-bullying and flaming me. I endured all of that and stuck to the reason on why I wrote and braved it out here in years ago.

I've been writing stories as young as I could remember...but they were all just in notebooks meant for my eyes alone (just like young Akihito in the Junjo Romantica series where he has bags upon bags of notebooks of handwritten novels before he reached double digits - age 9 or below). So Emrys, just like my other fanfic OCs such as AJ Ishino from my Bat-Family fanfic The Pentagram Council Origins and Troy Tsuuri / Abigor from my Descendants of Darkness / Yami no Matsuei fanfic series, were created as long as I could remember. They were characters created and were meant to roam around in their own world...their own universe of my creation...but initially never meant to see the light of day let alone be read by a person other than me.

That all changed when I became a youth minister for a parish and was in charge of 30 young kids ages 9 to 17. There was a particular young lady who I wanted to reach out to and help. I encouraged her to find positive outlets to deal with things that life had to bring. On a dare, because at the time she was fighting any efforts for help, she basically asked me point-blank to give an example. I told her that writing was a good avenue for such things. She then told me to post one at and give her my username once it is posted.

And so I reached back to those notebooks of short stories and novels that I've handwritten many years ago, and picked one. I then edited and posted the short story here...and thus, my very first fanfic There Will Come Soft Rain came to be.

To me, my goal was to reach out to that one person...and reached it did - something that I am still humbled and grateful to say to this very day. I didn't write for the reviews, the praises. Hell, I certainly didn't write it (or any of my fics) so that I would be flamed or cyber-bullied. I wrote it to save someone in real life. I wrote it because my in-person words were not enough to reach her, and before she became far too gone for me or anyone to reach, I had to make every effort that I could to keep trying because she - just like any other life her on Earth - was (and is) important.

To date, I still don't write primarily for the reviews (although let's face it, reviews are nice...lol). I write for the sake of writing and the good that it brings in sending the message across and reaching out to someone when he or she would need it most.

From this experience, I type this and relive the reason why I wish to write and create stories and characters. My OCs belong in their world, yet fanfiction breathed life into them and made them real. Since the posting of my first story, I have been dedicating my efforts in world-building and other similar ventures for my original fiction works with these characters. With the three characters - Alexandra Emrys (Em), Andrew James (AJ) Ishino, and Troy Tsuuri / Abigor as well as other minor OCs - now frolicking about in one fanfic The Pentagram Council Origins, I am happy to say that I am close in seeing / experimenting if the children will "play nice" with each other.

Happy reading, everyone!

Luv lots, PJ Zatken
