She fled into the night. She looked back over her shoulder again to make sure she wasn't being followed.
I will not accept my destiny.
She ran. She ran from everything. She ran from her sisters and brother. She ran from the two goddesses that took care of her. She ran from Ganondorf. She ran from her parents. She even ran from Link.
I will not accept my destiny. I will not be keeper of time. I'm only seventeen years old!
She kept running...running...running.
But then a loud, shrill shriek, breaking the silence, breaking the sound barrier, stopped her. She turned to the direction of the scream. She took one step that way, but then one step back.
No.
"No!" she screamed at the voice. "You cannot trick me! I will not come back!"
She turned again and ran from the voice, through the blinding, cold, unfriendly rain.
I will never go back.
But then another scream sounded. This time even louder.
She stopped and turned to it again. She took one step toward it, but then back again.
Torn by indecisiveness, she then realized what she must do. She had no choice but to accept her destiny and to protect Hyrule. If she didn't, her life would be one of the many lost to Ganondorf.
Heart shattered, she slowly returned to the Forbidden Land...slowly returned to the Gates of Time...slowly returned to..her destiny.
