Chapter 1: The Mirror
Hogwarts Castle was silent. Well, almost. Harry Potter was awake, tossing and turning in his bed. Lately, he couldn't sleep. He kept dreaming about himself looking in the Mirror of Erised. That wasn't what scared him most it was what he saw. Since he couldn't sleep, he decided to take a walk.
Harry climbed out of his warm bed into the chilly night air. Grabbing his invisibility cloak, he slipped out of the dormitory, down the stairs and out of the Gryffindor Common Rooms. It was then that he let his mind wander to the dream.
Not paying attention to where he was going, when he stopped and jerked out of his mind, he noticed that he was in front of the Mirror of Erised. Being the curious person he was, he just had to look into the mirror. A quiet gasp cut through the silence of the night. What he saw in it was the same as the dream.
Scared, he ran out of the circular room that the mirror had appeared in. The corridor he had entered was unfamiliar, but he didn't care, all he wanted was to get as far away from the Mirror of Erised as possible. He ran blindly until he reached the Portrait.
