Ch. 2- Visit From a Friend
Harry stared at the letter in disbelief. "Why would they call us back so early?" he wandered aloud. "What about the people on vacation in other countries? They can't just pull them away like this on such short notice!" He turned to Hedwig, thinking on the bright side. "It looks like we can go home sooner than planned. I need to get a ride to Diagon Alley, though." He smiled at the thought.
Harry ran down the stairs. "Uncle Vernon, I need a ride!" Harry stopped in the kitchen. Nobody was there. "I forgot they left!" he cried outloud. "I only have a week before term starts. I wanted to stay in Diagon Alley for awhile."
Harry flopped himself on the couch. He jumped back up imediately. "Whose there?" he called. He had heard thumping. He flew over to the window, pulling out his wand on the way.
"Harry! Harry, where are you?" called a familiar voice. Harry swirled around. "Moody!" he yelled as Mad-Eye Moody himself walked in. "What are you doing here?" Harry asked. "Picking you up." grunted Moody.
"Where are we going?" Harry asked curiously. "Diagon Alley, where else." Moody replied, "to get your book. You can stay at the Leaky Cauldron until school starts. I thought you would like that." he added at the look on Harry's face. "Before we go, I need to speak with you." Moody's face was grim.
