The Escape
"HOW DARE YOU BOY!!! AFTER ALL WE HAVE DONE FOR YOU, CLOTHED YOU, FED YOU, PUT A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD. THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY US? GETTING THOSE FREAK FRIENDS OF YOURS TO GANG UP ON US?" Uncle Vernon yelled as he threw Harry into the car.
"I had no idea that they would be there." Harry responded in a hushed tone.
"SPEAK UP BOY!" Uncle Vernon yelled as he raised his hand.
"Stupify." Harry heard as a red light hit Vernon in the back. As soon as Harry heard the first two letters of the curse being yelled he had his wand drawn and watching in terror as his overly large uncle fell in towards him.
"wingardiam leviosa." And his uncle was floating away from him. "Harry I am not going to let you stay with these muggles."
"Professor Lupin? I thought that you had left with the others?" Harry replied.
"No I didn't. I never have trusted your aunt with your care. I knew she hated you and I knew it was just a matter of time before he," pointing at Vernon," did something to you that I could never forgive myself for allowing to happen. I made a promise to your dad that I would watch over you if something ever happened to... Sir-... to padfoot. I intend to keep that promise." Remus replied.
"But Professor Lupin, what about Professor Dumbledore?"
"First off Harry I haven't been your teacher for what is it two years now? Call me Remus or if you would like you can call me moony."
"Moony, kind of has a nice ring to it. I think I will. Thank you."
"What can I say to Prongs jr." Remus chuckled.
"You didn't answer my other question though, what about..." But Harry was cut off.
"Dumbledore be dammed. Harry you deserve happiness and you will never get it with these muggles that just happen to have the same blood as you."
"But what about the prophecy? It says..." Once again Remus cut him off.
"I know what it says Harry. I found out last night. That's another reason Dumbledore be dammed. I can understand him telling you that blasted prophecy now that it involves you but to tell you not two hours after you saw your godfather fall through that veil, presumed dead."
"Wait a minute, what do you mean presumed dead? Dumbledore said that he isn't coming back that he is dead." Harry exclaimed as he could feel his temper breaking.
"That I can't talk about here. Why don't you come with me and we can talk about it in a more private area?"
"Where are we going?" Harry asked as he jumped out of the car.
"I will tell you when we lose our tail." Remus concurred as he pulled Harry's trunk out of the car.
"What are they fallowing me or something?"
"Yes! I don't know who it is now. Dumbledore has set up a guard rotation from members of the Order to watch you. I was some how excluded from that list surprise surprise." Moony replied sarcastically.
"What are we going to do with him?" Harry asked as he pointed at his uncle who had been placed in the front seat.
"Let him wake up on his own. That ugly face of his can use all the beauty sleep it can get." They both chuckled at this. "Sorry Harry but where we are going Hedwig can't come till you have been inducted."
"What do you mean inducted?"
"You'll see, but we need to get going. May I suggest that you send Hedwig to Ginny?"
"Why Ginny?"
"I'm not sure but I have a feeling she will need her soon."
"OK, Hedwig you heard him carry your cage and go to Ginny for a little while. When I can I will come for you." Hedwig gave him an affectionate nip on the ear and flew off.
"Moony? Why is she flying that way? I thought the Burrow was that way." He said pointing in the opposite direction.
"I think that the Weaslys are staying at number 12 this summer."
"Oh." Was his only reply.
"Come on I'll take your trunk. Lets go back into the train station. We will take the next available train to Scotland."
Why Scotland?" Harry asked very confused.
"Lets just say that we are going home and leave it at that for now." So they set off back into the train station. The trunk floating a mere inch off the ground behind them. All the while Moody watched them with his magical eye.
Remus approached the nearest counter and slid a 100 pound note under the glass saying, "two for the next train for Scotland."
"That would be the express that leaves in an hour." The short bushy haired women replied.
"That will be fine." Remus answered.
"First class or coach, sir?" she asked
"First class please."
"So that's two first class for the express bound for Scotland leaving platform nine at 4 o'clock p.m. correct?"
"Yes."
"That will be seventy five pounds, please?"
"For twenty five pounds, could you have that man over there with the brown trench coat escorted from the train station."
"Yes sir that will be no problem. Here are your tickets enjoy your trip." She said then picking up a radio she yelled into the mike, "Security this is desk five over."
"This is security go ahead desk five." Was the squawky response.
"There is a man in a brown trench coat standing fifteen meters from my desk. He looks very suspicious. Could you please detain him for questioning for at least an hour?" she asked as she winked at Remus.
"Roger that brown trench coat fifteen meters from desk five. Security leader to alfa tango Charlie teams please switch to secure channel." The radio went silent.
"Remus take care of him. I will stall Moody as long as I can. If ever Harry needs a friend and a mentor its now."
"Tonks?"
"Watcher Harry. Have fun up there in Scotland."
"I better go help security interrogate Moody that way you will have time to yourselves and hopefully get out of here undetected. The train leaves in forty five minutes from platform nine. The train has been searched and spelled so that nothing magical of any kind can enter until you arrive at your destination. Once you two step on board, the train will be secure so I suggest you leave for the train now."
"Thanks a lot Tonks. This helps a lot. See you in three months time." Remus hollered over his shoulder as he headed towards platform nine.
They watched as three teams of five armed security guards surrounded Moody. Just as he looked to slip an invisibility cloak over his shoulders it flew from his hands and landed in Tonks' out stretched hand. He was caught off guard and that simple moment gave the security guards just enough time to pin him to the ground and hand cuff him.
"Come on Harry we need to get to the train."
"All right. Isn't Tonks going to get into trouble for this?"
"Nope. She is off duty at the ministry and she has already resigned from the order."
"What do you mean resigned from the order?"
"She was listening in to the meeting last night between Dumbledore and me and heard the prophecy and the circumstances behind you hearing it. She disagrees with Dumbledore's judgment. She confronted him about it and he defended his side saying that he knew it was the right time to tell you"
"Where does he get off saying that it was the right time to tell me? Did he tell you what I did to his office?"
"No he did not what happened?"
"I blew a lot of things up. I was so upset about Sirus."
"I don't blame you kido. Here we are you go in first."
