Love Under Circumstances: Chapter One: The Doctor Is Out
Megumi sighed as she took off her apron and left Kaoru to the cooking. "If anything starts burning give me a holler, are you sure you can handle this?"
"Don't worry Megumi, just try to enjoy his company, I can handle dinner." Kaoru tried to look like she had the faintest idea of what she was doing and managed to put too much water into the rice "Oops."
"I can't believe I'm actually going along with this, I'm NOT grateful to you and you BETTER not tell anyone outside the dojo. Got it?" Megumi slid open the door to a smaller room in the dojo with chopsticks, dishes, and some food Megumi had prepared earlier for two.
Kaoru shut the door behind her and cackled evily (and silently) "MUAHAHAHA HEHEHE. Operation blind date commences. BWAHA-ARGH" At that moment a bubbling pot's contents splattered in an explosion drenching the room.
--------- Meanwhile.----------
"Kenshin, do I have to do this, it's no FAIR just because I drew the short straw I have to waste a perfectly good dinner. And gee, this gi and hakama outfit is nice and all but blue isn't my color."
"Stop whining please," Kenshin sighed exasperatedly "I had to dig through some Kamiya Kasshin uniforms ( Kamiya Kasshin uniforms are a white gi and blue hakama) you can't go on a blind date in a jacket and pants that look like capris!"
"I don't want to go on a date with the fox, it's a total waste of time. I can't believe Kaoru thought of this stupid waste of time, it's not fair!" Sano was pushed into the smaller room where he found the aforementioned food and Megumi "NO WAY IN HELL! I am NOT going in there, I thought you'd made a vow never to kill. KENSHIN YOU TRAITOR AHHHH!"
"Would you just shut up already," snapped Megumi scornfully "I'm just as excited as you. In case you don't realize it I'm also cursed to be on this "blind date" with someone I dislike-"
"Who?" Asked Sano not catching on.
Megumi continued "- and as if that's not punishment enough Kaoru is in charge of cooking, hopefully she wont poison us. –She glanced at Sano- On second thought maybe I want her to poison us."
"Is any of this edible?" Sano pointed at the pot of miso soup Megumi had prepared earlier.
"Of course it is, I was the one the one who cooked that." Megumi said snidely as she ladled it into two bowls "I wasn't ready to trust Kaoru with dinner."
Sano finished the soup within a minute of receiving it "Good thinking, now no matter how bad the little missy ruins dinner I wont starve. At least one person in this dojo knows how to make a meal without poisoning anyone who eats it." Megumi blushed and gave her fox laugh.
------ In kitchen ------
Kaoru was turning red and her eye twitched with anger. Kenshin held her back saying "At least they're getting along you were brilliant to come up with this."
"SHUT UP IN THERE, I CAN HEAR YOU YA KNOW!"
