Everything changes chapter 3
Ric and Elizabeth had spent three wonderful days shut away from the world in their suite. It was a mini honeymoon to replace the one they never got to go on in May. While the PC hotel was not Europe it was still nice. They had spent those three days dress only in the white hotel robes. They ate room service, talked and planned there future together watched some old movies and made Love so many times they had lost count.
But the fun was over. Elizabeth was already dressed in a red sweater and her painted jeans. Ric was still in the process of getting dressed as a proper ADA. Gone was the sexy robe and in its place was the dark suit, dark tie, white shirt Ric Lansing ADA of Port Charles NY.
Through their talks they had decided that while Ric went into the office today. Elizabeth would look for a new Home for them. They would sell the Cherry lane house quickly as possible. Ric would spend part of the weekend packing up all of his personal property but everything else would go with the house. He would put most of his stuff into storage and move into the studio with Elizabeth until they could find something Elizabeth liked.
The studio was to small to be a real long-term home for the two of them. Ric had made arrangements to have a sleeper sofa delivered this afternoon. That way at least they could both get a good night sleep.
While Ric was at the office catching up on his cases, Elizabeth would look for a new home and she was very excited. Both the condo and the house on cherry lane had been chosen by Ric and while beautiful neither one was really what Elizabeth had pictured her home looking like.
They stopped by the studio to drop off the bags and then Ric had Elizabeth leave him at the PCPD so she would have the Lexus. After work he would meet her at Kelly's. After supper they would go by the Cherry lane house and pick up the other car.
After a few hours looking at houses and condo's Elizabeth has stopped by the hospital to check on Emily. She had made remarkable improvements and had even been moved out of ICU into a private room. Elizabeth tapped on the closed door and heard Emily say "Come in." Opening the door she found a much better looking Emily sitting up in her bed with Zander next to her. Lucky and Nik were sitting in the chairs. When he realized that the Visitor was Liz Nik got up gave her a hug and offered her his chair.
"Em, You sure are looking better since the Last time I saw you. Being Mrs. Smith seems to be agreeing with You." Elizabeth said her smile bright as she hugged Emily before she sat down.
Emily said," I am feeling Much better Elizabeth." Looking over at Zander full of Love she continued "But its Mrs. Lewis not Mrs. Smith. Zander decided it was time to stop denying who he was and to get on with his new life with me. Being his wife seems to be the best medicine."
Elizabeth Laughed and said, "Ok Mrs. Lewis speaking of marriage..." she paused and held up her left hand showing them that her wedding rings were back where they belonged. "Ric and I have decided to stay that way."
All four of her friends seemed a little shocked. Finally Emily spoke up first. "Elizabeth I am happy for you of course but what changed your Mind, I thought you had decided that you couldn't forgive Ric."
Before Elizabeth could answer Lucky chimed in, "I can't believe this Elizabeth after all that man has done to you how can you forgive him? "
Taking a deep breath Elizabeth simply smiled and said," I love him Lucky. It's that simple, I love him. I forgive him but most of all I trust him. I found out when he came back from South America and started seeing Gail Baldwin that Ric was not an evil monster he was sick and I should have been a better wife and been there to support him but I didn't. Now between the counseling and the medication he is better. I trust him and I love him. Most of I know he loves me."
Before Lucky could argue anymore Nik walked across the room and gave Elizabeth a hug. He said, "I am happy for you Liz."
Lucky looked over at Elizabeth and Nik and realized it was a loosing battle. He hugged Elizabeth and said, "All I ever wanted since I returned was for you to be Happy...But You tell that husband of yours if he hurts you again I will personally kick his ass!"
Zander started laughing and finally said, "well that would be fun to watch. I would have to cell tickets." And everyone laughed.
"So what have you been up to this morning?" Emily asked happy that they were all laughing again and wanting to keep the mood light.
"Well actually I have been Looking for a place for Ric and I. We are selling the house on cherry lane. My studio is to small but we are staying there until I find something for us," Elizabeth said.
"What about my cottage? Nik asked. "I offered it to Zander and Emily but they want something closer to the hospital for now and since I am living on the island with Stefan it empty. It has been that way since Brenda left. I was gonna list it today."
"Oh I love that cottage." Elizabeth said her face lighting up," its exactly what I have been looking for. Are you sure you want to let it go?"
Smiling at how happy Elizabeth was Nik reached into his pocket and took out a key chain removing a key and handing it to Elizabeth. "Here you go Elizabeth Here are the key. Why don't you take Ric over to look at it and if it suits you both have him give me a call. I am sure we can work something out. Oh and before I forget the furniture and everything in it goes with the house. If you and Ric take the cottage you can keep what you want and give the rest away."
Later that evening Elizabeth was waiting at Kelly's to meet Ric for supper. She had come early to make arrangement with Bobbie to cut her workdays down to two. She would be working Monday and Tuesday lunch shifts. Being the ADA's wife she didn't need to work but with classes two days a week and then working two shifts at Kelly's she wouldn't be as isolated as she had been before.
Bobbie had gone back into the office to work out the shifts and Elizabeth was sipping her coffee still waiting for Ric. When Courtney and Carly walked into Kelly's. Courtney walked straight across the room and was standing beside Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth I want you to tell that sick freak of an ex-husband to stay the hell away from me and Jason. I don't know what kind of game you are playing but he seems to think something is going on between you and Jason and I want it to stop," Courtney demanded.
Elizabeth tried to stay calm but she had already had enough and was not putting up with Jason's little bunny anymore." Hello to you too Courtney!" she said as she turned on the stool to face her. "Ok to set something first she said as she held up her hand, "that's Husband not ex-husband and that Sick freak as you put it well you got the sick part right. He has been getting help from Gail Baldwin and is on meds so he is doing very well. Thank you! As to Ric's conversation with Jason why don't you ask Jason why Ric was so upset."
Both Carly and Courtney were very surprised at the new that Liz and Ric had gotten back together.
Carly jumped in before Courtney could answer. "Listen you little snooty bitch, I have no idea what sick games your freak of a husband is playing with Jason but since I know Jason threw you away like the slut you are after you were with Zander. Its all simply more bullshit to cause trouble."
"Well like I was telling Courtney why don't you both leave me alone and go ask your precious Jason he has all the answers." Elizabeth said as she got up to move to a table.
Carly stepped in front of Elizabeth Blocking her way. "I didn't tell you, you could leave and you not going to be going anywhere until you tell Courtney what lies you are telling Ric.
Before Elizabeth had a chance to say anything Bobbie came out of her office. "Carly enough stop acting like a spoiled Five year old. Who hasn't learned that the world does not revolve around you."
"But Momma," Carly whined. "She is trying to cause trouble between Jason and Courtney. She has sent that freak Ric after Jason making it look like something is going on between Elizabeth and Jason. "
Bobbie was angry at that stepping forward she said Carly I think you and Courtney need to leave if there is a question about Jason and what he is or is not doing ask Jason and stop attacking Elizabeth.
Mom I can't let her get away with this she is using that freak to destroy Jason and Courtney.
Now Bobbie was yelling, "that's enough Carly. Your jealousy is showing. You just can't stand that Liz has a man that loves her enough to change while Sonny won't for you. In fact whatever is or is not going on with Jason and Elizabeth rally isn't any of your business anyway. It Courtney's! Now you need to leave.
Carly simply looked at her mother amazed that she would dare say that to her and turned and walked out followed quickly by Courtney.
'Thank you said Elizabeth giving Bobbie a hug.

2 weeks later
Still upset by Ric's cryptic comment in the park, and the continued distance She felt from Jason, Courtney had come to Carly and asked her to speak to him. She had taken Michael to the park then they were going to the movies to see "Brother Bear." Finally to be topped off with burgers and ice cream at Kelly's.
Carly was sitting on the Couch in Jason's penthouse waiting for him.
Finally Jason came home and was surprised to find Carly sitting in his Pent house. "Carly, What are you doing here?" Jason asked annoyed that she was waiting for him.
Taking a deep breath Carly Began "Jason we need to talk about..." only to be cut off by an angry Jason.
"Ok! I don't have time for this right now. So can you just tell me what you have done to glow up your Life this time Quickly." He said annoyed.
Carly was now angry and she yelled "Damnit Jason its not about me and Sonny this is about Courtney. You know the girl friend you have been ignoring Courtney!"
Calming down quickly and becoming worried Jason asked. "What about Courtney? What's happened?"
"Well Jason that's what I am trying to find out! She wants to know what's going on between you and Elizabeth and why you are so distant." Carly asked still angry with him.
"Nothing is going on with Elizabeth," Jason answered his calmness had returned.
'Bullshit Jason That's bullshit, I have seen you staring at her through the window of Kelly's. If nothing is going on now something happened. "Carly said as she walked across the pent house and was standing in front of Jason glaring. "What set Ric off at the park? Because all smartassed comment aside you and I both Know he has been getting help and on Meds for a couple months now. He's not deranged anymore. "Fine Jase Fine its not my business But Jason it is Courtney's You live with her, you all are supposed to get married. You are pushing her away and it's really hurting her.' Carly yelled as she grabbed Jason by the arm to try and stop him from leaving.

"Fine Carly! I know your right. I will tell her tonight. I promise!" Jason said as he sat down on the sofa.
A few minutes later Courtney came in followed By Michael.
"Hi uncle Jason aunt Courtney and me we had the best time we went to thew movies and had ice cream and everything." Michael said as he hugged Jason and then walking over to Carly he said "Mommy we were looking for you ".
Carly reached down and took Michael hand and they started to the door. "Well Mr. Man why don't we go over to our house and you can tell me all about it. Your Uncle Jason needs to talk to Aunt Courtney about something. "
"Ok, mommy. See ya Uncle Jason, see ya Courtney," he said as they left.
After they had left and closed the door turned to Courtney. "I don't know how to tell you this so I will just say it ok? "Jason said.
"Ok Jason," Courtney said dreading what he was gonna tell you.
"That night that I didn't come home... when we thought Emily was gonna die. Well I wasn't alone like I said. I was with Elizabeth. We went to vista point and we had sex." Jason said Quickly with no emotion.
"You did what?" Courtney asked her eyes full of tears she was shocked.
"I had sex with Elizabeth," Jason said looking down at the floor
"That's why Ric was so mad in the park? You had slept with his wife." Courtney asked
"Yes!" said Jason finally looking her in the eyes seeing her pain.
"So now what? Are you gonna leave me since I can not have any children and Elizabeth can? You were with her before you hooked up with me do you want her back?" Courtney asked yelling at him. She was so angry she was shaking and fighting back the tears.
"No Courtney it wasn't like that I am not in love with Elizabeth it meant nothing. The sex it was a way to hide the pain. Can you forgive me?" Jason simply asked. Before Courtney could answer Jason's cell phone started ringing.
"Yes he answered ... Yes.... Yes ... yes ... ok I will be right there. He said as he hung up. "I have to leave Courtney I will be back in a couple of days you can tell me what you want to do then."
With that Jason got his gun out of the desk drawer and his jacket and went straight out the front door never even looking back.
Courtney went over the cabinet in the corner got out the vodka and filled a large water glass after drinking it she took the bottle with her back to the couch and poured another one.
Elizabeth and Ric were standing in front of the cottage. They had just closed on the house that morning and couldn't wait to get into there new home. Stopped putting down a cardboard box on the front stoop and after unlocking the door He picked up his giggling wife and carried her over the threshold.
He put her down and pulled her in his arms for a scorching kiss. Then stepping back he said, "Welcome home Mrs. Lansing."
"Thank you Mr. Lansing." She answered.
Ric went back out and got the box while Elizabeth took the stuff that was on the mantle down.
Reaching into the Box Ric pulled out the picture of his Martha's Vineyard Home and passed it to Elizabeth who put it on the mantle. They then added a couple pictures of them and several candles and candlesticks. The final Item he pulled out of the box was wrapped in white tissue paper; it was a tiny little teddy bear that they put on the mantle in its place of honor. Looking At Ric Elizabeth smiled.
Ric looked at the teddy bear and said, "For what we have lost, so we never forget."
Elizabeth wrapped her arms around her hubby and said "No for what we have found again and what may come. "
Ric smiled and picked her up and spun around until she was laughing all the while saying, "Yes, yes we have a wonderful life."
They were interrupted by a knock on the door.
Putting Elizabeth down Ric went to answer the door and found a crowd outside. "Well come in'" he said smiling as Lucky can in holding Maxies hand. Followed by Zander helping Emily all carrying gifts and then last was Nik carrying two large Picnic baskets.
"Surprise!" They all yelled at one time.

Carly reached down and took Michael hand and they started to the door. "Well Mr. Man why don't we go over to our house and you can tell me all about it. Your Uncle Jason needs to talk to Aunt Courtney about something. "
"Ok, mommy. See ya Uncle Jason, see ya Courtney," he said as they left.
After they had left and closed the door turned to Courtney. "I don't know how to tell you this so I will just say it ok? "Jason said.
"Ok Jason," Courtney said dreading what he was gonna tell you.
"That night that I didn't come home... when we thought Emily was gonna die. Well I wasn't alone like I said. I was with Elizabeth. We went to vista point and we had sex." Jason said Quickly with no emotion.
"You did what?" Courtney asked her eyes full of tears she was shocked.
"I had sex with Elizabeth," Jason said looking down at the floor
"That's why Ric was so mad in the park? You had slept with his wife." Courtney asked
"Yes!" said Jason finally looking her in the eyes seeing her pain.
"So now what? Are you gonna leave me since I can not have any children and Elizabeth can? You were with her before you hooked up with me do you want her back?" Courtney asked yelling at him. She was so angry she was shaking and fighting back the tears.
"No Courtney it wasn't like that I am not in love with Elizabeth it meant nothing. The sex it was a way to hide the pain. Can you forgive me?" Jason simply asked. Before Courtney could answer Jason's cell phone started ringing.
"Yes he answered ... Yes.... Yes ... yes ... ok I will be right there. He said as he hung up. "I have to leave Courtney I will be back in a couple of days you can tell me what you want to do then."
With that Jason got his gun out of the desk drawer and his jacket and went straight out the front door never even looking back.
Courtney went over the cabinet in the corner got out the vodka and filled a large water glass after drinking it she took the bottle with her back to the couch and poured another one.
Elizabeth and Ric were standing in front of the cottage. They had just closed on the house that morning and couldn't wait to get into there new home. Stopped putting down a cardboard box on the front stoop and after unlocking the door He picked up his giggling wife and carried her over the threshold.
He put her down and pulled her in his arms for a scorching kiss. Then stepping back he said, "Welcome home Mrs. Lansing."
"Thank you Mr. Lansing." She answered.
Ric went back out and got the box while Elizabeth took the stuff that was on the mantle down.
Reaching into the Box Ric pulled out the picture of his Martha's Vineyard Home and passed it to Elizabeth who put it on the mantle. They then added a couple pictures of them and several candles and candlesticks. The final Item he pulled out of the box was wrapped in white tissue paper; it was a tiny little teddy bear that they put on the mantle in its place of honor. Looking At Ric Elizabeth smiled.
Ric looked at the teddy bear and said, "For what we have lost, so we never forget."
Elizabeth wrapped her arms around her hubby and said "No for what we have found again and what may come. "
Ric smiled and picked her up and spun around until she was laughing all the while saying, "Yes, yes we have a wonderful life."
They were interrupted by a knock on the door.
Putting Elizabeth down Ric went to answer the door and found a crowd outside. "Well come in'" he said smiling as Lucky can in holding Maxies hand. Followed by Zander helping Emily all carrying gifts and then last was Nik carrying two large Picnic baskets.
"Surprise!" They all yelled at one time.
