Everything Changes chapter6

"Lizze-B Its me, It's your brother Steven," Steven said as he leaned against the door. He was shocked to find his sister in that bed trying desperately to get away and protect her baby.
Elizabeth Stared at him trying to process what he was saying. A part of her wished what he was saying was true but she knew it couldn't be. She hadn't seen Steven since she was 8 and he was not there now. "You're lying your lying," she started crying even harder and was screaming at this point. "Please, Please don't hurt my baby! Please! I know he sent you! But its not his baby its my baby and I want it please don't do this don't kill my baby." Finally she just stopped begging and just sobbed.
Steven had no idea what to do. He decided that the best thing he could do was making her feel safe. He walked around the outside edge of the room along the walls to stay as far as possible from Elizabeth so he wouldn't frighten her any more and picked up the metal framed visitors' chair. He walked back to the door and wedged it under the door so no one else could get into the room. Then he sat on the floor and just started talking. "Ok Lizzie-B I have fixed the door so no one can get in here to hurt you and I am gonna sit over her along the wall so I can't hurt you either. But I can prove I'm you Brother Steven." He said smiling hoping that would help.
Elizabeth looked Steven as he sat on the floor. "How can you prove your Steven? "she asked.
"It's easy, I know a secret that only I and Lizzie-B share. Besides how many other people in Port Charles call you Lizzie-B? He asked with a laugh. She may not trust him yet but Elizabeth was calmer.
"Ok what's the secret that only Steven and I share? Elizabeth asked him she was calmer now and he did look a lot like her dad.
"Well first the last time I saw you had a head full of wild curls no skin on your knee's and you called me Devey because you were missing your front teeth and couldn't says S's." Steven said with a huge grin and was thrilled when she smiled at the memory. "Anyway just before I went to college when you were not quite 8 you were playing ball in the house when you were not supposed to of course. You had broken Sara's new china doll's arm. You came to me crying and I helped you. We glued the arm together and then glued the sleeves on both sides down to the arms so it looked like it came that way and no one ever saw the break. "Steven Looked up at Elizabeth with that last line and saw the shock in her face as she realized that it was him
"Oh God, I remember that day," Elizabeth said as she stared at him her eyes were droopy trying to go to sleep from the meds.
"You said I would be your bestest hero forever." Steven said smiling. Then he walked over to the bed sat down and gently hugged Elizabeth.
"I must be dreaming." Elizabeth said as she held on to her brother.
"No, Lizzie you're not dreaming. I'm real and I'm here. Your gonna be safe, I promise. Now Please stop fighting the meds and go to sleep. I will be here when you wake up." Steven said as he held her hand.
Ric was in the Lobby pacing back and forth when ADA Cox finally arrived with two uniformed officers. The officers said hello to Ric and then went straight up to Elizabeth room.
"Here you go Ric, One restraining order. Jason Morgan can't within 100 feet of your wife without getting arrested." Kim said as she handed the restraing order over to Ric.
"Thank You Kim forgetting this done so quickly." Ric said.
'Actually it was simple. The DA's wife is threatened by a known Mob hit man. Hell Mac sent Sam and al along no questions They are the first shift to guard Elizabeth." Kim answered. She was actually surprised at how simple it was to get the police guard.
'Well all I can say is Thank you again." Ric said as he started out the door
Steven had sat on the bed holding Elizabeth hand until she had fallen asleep. She had tried to tell him several times why she was so upset but he had finally convinced her that she needed to sleep for the baby. He told her he would listen to everything when she woke up. He slowly got up not wanting to wake Elizabeth and had walked over to the door to remove the chair. Then he moved the chair nest to the bed and waited for Ric to come back and explain what the hell was going on.
A few minutes later the door opened and Steven looked up thinking he would see Ric instead he was surprised to see to large men in dark suits come in pushing a wheel chair.
"What do you want asked?" Steven asked as he stood up between the two men and Elizabeth.
"We have been sent to take Her to have a test done," the bigger of the two men answered "You need to Move."
'I'm sorry Elizabeth can not be moved for 48 hours and no tests have been planned. You need to leave." Steven said.
The larger of the two men hit Steven in the jaw just as the door to the room opened and two PCPD officers came in guns drawn. Freeze they yelled.
Jason was sitting in Sonny and Carly's pent house Listening to Carly screeching about how he had betrayed Courtney while sonny sat back and drank.
There was a knock on the Penthouse door and The guard announced "DA Lansing as he opened the door."
"What do you want Ric?" Sonny asked as he walked across the penthouse. To stand next to Carly.
Ric walked past sonny to stand in front of Jason. "I am here to deliver these." He said as he through the restraining order at him.
Jason down at the papers and the back Up at Ric, "Is this all you wanted he asked. "
Ric looked at him and said, "Actually NO!" He reached into his jacket but instead of pulling out more papers like everyone thought he would he pulled out silver 38 and aimed it at Jason's head.
Ric this isn't needed" Sonny said You need to calm down.
Ric looked at Jason. "You make me sick you rotten bastard. Does my big brother even know what you plan to do to Elizabeth? Did you tell him? Did you tell Sonny and Carly that you planned to kidnap Elizabeth out of her room and force her to have an abortion?"
Sonny spoke up." What have you done Jason?"
Jason finally looked at Sonny and said, "I had to Sonny. Elizabeth can not have this baby it will destroy Courtney. She can have another baby later Abortion was the only answer. She wouldn't listen so I made sure she would have one." His voice very flat no emotion at all.
Ric continued to hold Jason at Gunpoint. "You stupid bastard That is my child you tried to murder MY child You may have slept with MY wife one time. But I was made love with her in the same time frame, several times. That is my child even if I am not the biological father. I am the legal father. Regardless of all of that in the end it's Elizabeth baby and Elizabeth Body. She wants this child and she will have it. If your men get to her or the stress you put her through cause her to looses this baby I will blow your @#%$ head off."
Sonny took a step forward to try to intervene but was stopped by Carly's hand on his arm. He turned to look at Carly and Listened as she whispered let me to Him.
Carly took a couple of Steps toward Ric her hands in front of her. She started talking keeping her voice as calm as possible. "Ric! You need to calm down, Ok! Don't do anything foolish! Come on Ric Elizabeth is gonna need you no matter what happens.
Ric never took his eyes off of Jason as he answered Carly. "You were there when she lost our baby. You saw how hurt she was how broken. Loosing that baby almost destroyed her it did destroy me and we are just getting our life back." The tears had started to fall down Ric's face but he did nothing he simply kept pointing his gun at Jason's head as he continued. "When Courtney hit she caused damage and Elizabeth has already had one surgery to try to save her baby. She won't survive loosing another baby."
Sonny tried talking his brother down since Carly wasn't doing any good. " Ric, I was there I remember. Elizabeth needed you and she will need you now no matter what happens. Please killing Jason means you won't be there for Elizabeth. She's what matters now."
"Shut up! Sonny! Shut up! "Ric spit out You don't care about Elizabeth or her baby your just don't want me killing Jason."
They all stood there for a few minutes the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. When they were all startled by the ringing of a cell phone. Ric reached down never taking his eyes Jason or Lowering the gun and removing the cell phone from his pocket he flipped it open to answer it, "Lansing...Yes...Yes...yes...Thank you I will be right there." Ric closed the phone. He lowered the hand holding the Gun but took the other hand and swung it still holding the Phone into Jason's jaw Knocking him to the Floor.
Jason started to get up to hit Ric when he heard Sonny bark out "Jason Stay there!"
Jason looked up at Ric glaring but quiet.
Rick picked up the papers that he had walked in with and tossing them at Jason he said, "You have been served, you bastard! Get any closer to Elizabeth than 100 feet and you will go straight to Jail."
He then turned to Sonny and said. "Your gonna need a couple of new men. Max and Johnny are in police custody. Johnny is charged with attempted Kidnapping. Max is charge with attempting Kidnapping and assault. If Elizabeth Looses her baby they will be charged with manslaughter."
Sonny looked at Jason glaring and then back at Ric. "Ric, I knew nothing about this. I would never condone abortion. I don't want Elizabeth hurt. He said.
Ric walked out the door with out answering him her never even looked back.
Steven was sitting in the chair in Elizabeth's room waiting for her to wake up and for her Husband to return. He had thought that Ric and Elizabeth were simply being silly. That was before those two men came in at gunpoint and tried to take Elizabeth. Now he was now holding an ice pack to his swollen jaw waiting for answers. Elizabeth was asleep and safe and so was Her baby. Now he needed information to help keep her that way.
After Ric left the penthouse Jason got to his feet. Before he could get to the door Carly was in front of him.
"No fucking way Jason you are not leaving until you give me some answers." Carly said. Knowing he would not comment she continued, "Did you do that? Did you send max and Johnny to Elizabeth room to force her to get an abortion?"
Jason looked straight at Carly and answered, "Yes!" Before he could continue Carly's hand flashed out and she slapped him putting all of her weight into it. "You bastard! You fucking, bastard. That is Elizabeth choice to make not yours."
Sonny grabbed Carly before she could do anymore damage to Jason. He looked at Jason and simply asked, "why?"
"I did it for Courtney. I can not have a baby with Elizabeth it will destroy her.' Jason said trying to explain.
Sonny stepped up and got right in Jason's face. "It's to late! He screamed. "You have no choice if that baby is yours then Elizabeth has your baby. You had a choice when you took her to Vista point and had unprotected sex with her. Now it's too late! You made the choice to have sex and cheat on my sister. Your choice is now over!"
Sonny walked across the room and picked up the phone. He pushed a button and then speaking into the phone he said. 'Marco, I need you and Greg to come and pick up Jason. I want you to take him to my plane. He will be flying to the island a soon as possible. If he gives you a hard time shoot him."
Jason was amazed at what he just heard Sonny say.
Sonny walked back over to Jason looked him in the eye. "You are going to the island where you will stay for at least 30 days. If you do not go to the island and stay there I will shoot you myself. I can't stand to even look at you right now."
There was a knock at the door and Marco and Greg came in and took Jason away.
Ric finally made it back to the hospital. He was so tired and afraid at what he would find. He said hello to the guard at Elizabeth's door before going in.
He was relived that the first thing he could hear when he walked into the room was the baby monitor blipping. Elizabeth was calm and asleep. Steven was sitting in a chair with an Ice pack held up to his face.
Ric looked over at Steven as he sat in the others visitor chair and said "Thank you! You can go!"
Steven looked over at Ric and simply said, "I'm not going anywhere."
"Why can't you leave she's safe!' Ric asked. You could see that he was simply worn out. "I'm here with her and we have the guards outside?" Ric walked over to get the other visitor's chair and pulled it up to the side of the bed to lay his head on the bed by Elizabeth.
"I'm not staying here to yank you Chain. I need to stay here until Lizzie wakes up because she doesn't think I'm real. She thinks she made me up in her head. "Steven said running his hand though his hair. "I promised her I would be here when she wakes up."
"Well if you want to wait I will not stop you. "Ric said as he lean forward and laid his head on the bed beside Elizabeth.
Steven got irritated at Ric's silence. "Are you going to bother explain what the hell happened. Were those men really trying to kidnap Lizzie and hurt this baby? "He asked.
Ric looked up at Steven. He was to tired to bother fighting anymore so he simply answered. 'May I give you quick over view and fill you in after I get some sleep?" He asked.
Steven smiled understanding how tired Ric was. "Readers Digest version sounds fine for now." He said.
"OK!" Ric said taking a deep breath. "Elizabeth and I separated because of some real horrible stuff I did when I lost my mind. I'm on med's now. Anyway Elizabeth slept with a mob hit man 2 days before we reconciled. Now we are not sure who the biological father of this baby is. The man didn't take to kindly to her being pregnant since his insane wife tried to kill Elizabeth with the car. So he sent some goons to force her into having an abortion."
"Oh, my God Steven said.
Ric Laid his head back down on the bed beside Elizabeth and went to sleep
Steven had been sitting in the chair for about an hour he felt funny just sitting there waiting until Elizabeth woke especially with Ric sleeping in the chair but he couldn't leave.
He looked over at Elizabeth and saw she was awake. He opened His mouth to say something.
Elizabeth put her finger to her mouth and said "SHHHHH! We need to stay quiet. I don't want to wake Ric." She looked down at him and slowly brushed the hair out of his face and continued to stroke his head. The love was shining in her eyes.
Steven moved so that his chair was next to the bed and started talking in a low voice. "Well hello Lizzie-B you look better. God you are so grown up." He said with a big grin on his face.
"I was amazed to see you still here. I thought I was just imagining you." Elizabeth said with a smile but then her eyes clouded over with Pain. " Well if your real then all the other stuff was to. A car hit me. I am 12 weeks pregnant and Jason has threatened me?" she asked.
Steven reached out and took her hand and said, "Yes!"
"Oh God! So Ric knows I'm 12 weeks?" Elizabeth said her voice getting louder as she gets more upset. She was talking in a normal tone of voice by the time she continued. "Then he knows this baby may not be his. Steven you need to help me I have to leave I can't do this to him."
Before Steven could answer Elizabeth Ric slowly sat up and looked at her. He smiled. "Elizabeth you're being silly. This is our baby. No matter who the biological father turns out to be. In the eyes of the law and in my heart this is our baby. Now stop being silly. I just got you back you can't leave me. Please!" Ric said his eyes full of tears.
Elizabeth stared at Ric and couldn't believe what Ric was saying. He still wanted her and this baby. She simply shook her head yes and motioned for him to come closer. Then when he did she pulled him to her and cried.
Not wanting to interrupt them Steven slowly slipped out the door.
After all the tears were done and lots of Kisses. Ric yawned again and laughed. He climbed up on to the bed with Elizabeth and snuggled her close to him and they both drifted off to sleep.
Two weeks had passed since Elizabeth had been admitted to the Hospital. There had been no more problems with Jason.
Elizabeth had spent Christmas in the hospital surrounded by her family and friends. It was a wonderful Christmas. Ric had looked very funny with a red nose and Foam reindeer antlers as they sang Christmas carols and opened their gifts. Ric had given her a beautiful ruby necklace and matching earrings. Elizabeth had given him a hand-tooled daytimer with the Lansing family crest and his name on the cover.
Lucky had even made sure they could kiss under the mistletoe he had held it over there heads. While everyone giggled and chanted Kiss her Kiss her.
Last night had been New Years Eve. Ric had brought dinner from the Grill complete with sparkling cider to toast the New Year. They had enjoyed curling up together to watch Dick Clarks Rocking eve and kissed at the stroke of Midnight when the ball fell to welcome in the New Year.
Now it was a new day, a New Year and Elizabeth was finally going home. She had a brace on her bad knee and her walking was very limited but she was well enough to go home. Ric had gone down wait for Nik's Limo because he swore that they would never fit all of the stuff from her room in the Lexus.
Steven was waiting with Elizabeth joking and laughing about her deserting him in the hospital when his beeper went off and he stepped out side to answer it.
Elizabeth was sitting on the bed waiting when the door opened she looked up smiling thinking it was Ric and was surprised to find Carly instead.
"Carly what do you want? Elizabeth asked trying to keep a neutral tone
"Do you realize that sonny got shot last night and it's all your fault? " Carly asked all attitude.
"I'm sorry to hear that sonny got shot!" Elizabeth said very concerned.
"I just bet your are. You are such a self centered little twit you don't realize that your selfish attitude and what you have done cause Sonny to get shot." Carly was screaming by now. "You had to have your cake and eat it to. You had to be a little whore and sleep with Jason then go running back to Ric with all his money. Guess you wanted to guarantee a meal ticket one way or another. You not being able to keep you damn pants on means my two best friends are gone and my husband was shot. What a fucking whore you are. You chased after Jason and he finally gave in are you happy."
Elizabeth stared at her amazed at what Carly was saying. "What's the matter Carly, jealous can't get Jason back in your bed since you bedded Sonny? Well since Jason was terrible and you still lust after him what does that say about Sonny?' She asked simply sick of Carly and all the rest of them.
Carly heard what she was saying about Jason and Sonny and saw Red. She screamed YOU fucking bitch as she stepped forward and slapped Elizabeth as hard as she could across the face.
Ric was walking in the front door after having the Limo parked in the patient pick up zone. He saw Sonny standing in the lobby with his arm in a sling. He started to walk by but was stopped when sonny said, "Ric can I have a minute?"
Ric stopped and said, "Ok! Sonny what do you need I am taking Elizabeth home today?"
Sonny looked at Ric flashing his smile. "I wanted you to know Jason is at the island I sent him there to cool off after you were at the penthouse."
"How do you know he will stay there? Ric asked.
"Simple My men have orders to shoot him if he comes back to Port Charles before the 30 days are over. I had no idea what he was doing Ric. I don't want anything bad to happen to Elizabeth or her baby. Sonny said very concerned.
"Thank you Sonny max and Johnny told me you had nothing to do with then Kidnapping. Ric said. He walked over to the elevator and punched the up arrow and was waiting.
"Ric could I come up and say Hello to Elizabeth? Sonny asked.
"Sure Sonny. I am sure Elizabeth would like a visit. Ric answered as he got into the elevator. Sonny followed him.
Steven had walked down to the nurses' station to answer his pager and was shocked as he heard a woman screaming in Elizabeth's room and then the sound of some one getting hit.
He rushed into the room and found a scrawny woman ranting and raving about what a little whore Elizabeth was. Elizabeth had a red handprint on her face and her eyes were full of tears.
He walked up behind the woman and grabbed her around the waist and started dragging the screaming and kicking woman out the door. "I have no idea what the fuck you are doing but you will not hurt Lizzie."
Ric and Sonny got off the Elevator Just as Steven came out of Elizabeth room dragging a kicking and screaming Carly. Sonny yelled, "let Go of My wife."
Ric said, "Steven what's going on why are you dragging Carly out of the room."
Steven looked over at Ric and said, "I have no idea that the @#%$ this Bitch and I don't care. She just went into Lizzie's room and was screaming at her! Which is bad enough, but then this scrawny Bitch slapped Lizzie hard enough to leave a welt."
Sonny was glaring, He yelled, "Carly what have you done!"
Ric said "turn her loose Steven."
Steven looked at Ric and then said fine and let go of Carly mid kick so she fell on her ass in the hallway

Carly took a couple of Steps toward Ric her hands in front of her. She started talking keeping her voice as calm as possible. "Ric! You need to calm down, Ok! Don't do anything foolish! Come on Ric Elizabeth is gonna need you no matter what happens.
Ric never took his eyes off of Jason as he answered Carly. "You were there when she lost our baby. You saw how hurt she was how broken. Loosing that baby almost destroyed her it did destroy me and we are just getting our life back." The tears had started to fall down Ric's face but he did nothing he simply kept pointing his gun at Jason's head as he continued. "When Courtney hit she caused damage and Elizabeth has already had one surgery to try to save her baby. She won't survive loosing another baby."
Sonny tried talking his brother down since Carly wasn't doing any good. " Ric, I was there I remember. Elizabeth needed you and she will need you now no matter what happens. Please killing Jason means you won't be there for Elizabeth. She's what matters now."
"Shut up! Sonny! Shut up! "Ric spit out You don't care about Elizabeth or her baby your just don't want me killing Jason."
They all stood there for a few minutes the tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife. When they were all startled by the ringing of a cell phone. Ric reached down never taking his eyes Jason or Lowering the gun and removing the cell phone from his pocket he flipped it open to answer it, "Lansing...Yes...Yes...yes...Thank you I will be right there." Ric closed the phone. He lowered the hand holding the Gun but took the other hand and swung it still holding the Phone into Jason's jaw Knocking him to the Floor.
Jason started to get up to hit Ric when he heard Sonny bark out "Jason Stay there!"
Jason looked up at Ric glaring but quiet.
Rick picked up the papers that he had walked in with and tossing them at Jason he said, "You have been served, you bastard! Get any closer to Elizabeth than 100 feet and you will go straight to Jail."
He then turned to Sonny and said. "Your gonna need a couple of new men. Max and Johnny are in police custody. Johnny is charged with attempted Kidnapping. Max is charge with attempting Kidnapping and assault. If Elizabeth Looses her baby they will be charged with manslaughter."
Sonny looked at Jason glaring and then back at Ric. "Ric, I knew nothing about this. I would never condone abortion. I don't want Elizabeth hurt. He said.
Ric walked out the door with out answering him her never even looked back.
Steven was sitting in the chair in Elizabeth's room waiting for her to wake up and for her Husband to return. He had thought that Ric and Elizabeth were simply being silly. That was before those two men came in at gunpoint and tried to take Elizabeth. Now he was now holding an ice pack to his swollen jaw waiting for answers. Elizabeth was asleep and safe and so was Her baby. Now he needed information to help keep her that way.
After Ric left the penthouse Jason got to his feet. Before he could get to the door Carly was in front of him.
"No fucking way Jason you are not leaving until you give me some answers." Carly said. Knowing he would not comment she continued, "Did you do that? Did you send max and Johnny to Elizabeth room to force her to get an abortion?"
Jason looked straight at Carly and answered, "Yes!" Before he could continue Carly's hand flashed out and she slapped him putting all of her weight into it. "You bastard! You fucking, bastard. That is Elizabeth choice to make not yours."
Sonny grabbed Carly before she could do anymore damage to Jason. He looked at Jason and simply asked, "why?"
"I did it for Courtney. I can not have a baby with Elizabeth it will destroy her.' Jason said trying to explain.
Sonny stepped up and got right in Jason's face. "It's to late! He screamed. "You have no choice if that baby is yours then Elizabeth has your baby. You had a choice when you took her to Vista point and had unprotected sex with her. Now it's too late! You made the choice to have sex and cheat on my sister. Your choice is now over!"
Sonny walked across the room and picked up the phone. He pushed a button and then speaking into the phone he said. 'Marco, I need you and Greg to come and pick up Jason. I want you to take him to my plane. He will be flying to the island a soon as possible. If he gives you a hard time shoot him."
Jason was amazed at what he just heard Sonny say.
Sonny walked back over to Jason looked him in the eye. "You are going to the island where you will stay for at least 30 days. If you do not go to the island and stay there I will shoot you myself. I can't stand to even look at you right now."
There was a knock at the door and Marco and Greg came in and took Jason away.
Ric finally made it back to the hospital. He was so tired and afraid at what he would find. He said hello to the guard at Elizabeth's door before going in.
He was relived that the first thing he could hear when he walked into the room was the baby monitor blipping. Elizabeth was calm and asleep. Steven was sitting in a chair with an Ice pack held up to his face.
Ric looked over at Steven as he sat in the others visitor chair and said "Thank you! You can go!"
Steven looked over at Ric and simply said, "I'm not going anywhere."
"Why can't you leave she's safe!' Ric asked. You could see that he was simply worn out. "I'm here with her and we have the guards outside?" Ric walked over to get the other visitor's chair and pulled it up to the side of the bed to lay his head on the bed by Elizabeth.
"I'm not staying here to yank you Chain. I need to stay here until Lizzie wakes up because she doesn't think I'm real. She thinks she made me up in her head. "Steven said running his hand though his hair. "I promised her I would be here when she wakes up."
"Well if you want to wait I will not stop you. "Ric said as he lean forward and laid his head on the bed beside Elizabeth.
Steven got irritated at Ric's silence. "Are you going to bother explain what the hell happened. Were those men really trying to kidnap Lizzie and hurt this baby? "He asked.
Ric looked up at Steven. He was to tired to bother fighting anymore so he simply answered. 'May I give you quick over view and fill you in after I get some sleep?" He asked.
Steven smiled understanding how tired Ric was. "Readers Digest version sounds fine for now." He said.
"OK!" Ric said taking a deep breath. "Elizabeth and I separated because of some real horrible stuff I did when I lost my mind. I'm on med's now. Anyway Elizabeth slept with a mob hit man 2 days before we reconciled. Now we are not sure who the biological father of this baby is. The man didn't take to kindly to her being pregnant since his insane wife tried to kill Elizabeth with the car. So he sent some goons to force her into having an abortion."
"Oh, my God Steven said.
Ric Laid his head back down on the bed beside Elizabeth and went to sleep
Steven had been sitting in the chair for about an hour he felt funny just sitting there waiting until Elizabeth woke especially with Ric sleeping in the chair but he couldn't leave.
He looked over at Elizabeth and saw she was awake. He opened His mouth to say something.
Elizabeth put her finger to her mouth and said "SHHHHH! We need to stay quiet. I don't want to wake Ric." She looked down at him and slowly brushed the hair out of his face and continued to stroke his head. The love was shining in her eyes.
Steven moved so that his chair was next to the bed and started talking in a low voice. "Well hello Lizzie-B you look better. God you are so grown up." He said with a big grin on his face.
"I was amazed to see you still here. I thought I was just imagining you." Elizabeth said with a smile but then her eyes clouded over with Pain. " Well if your real then all the other stuff was to. A car hit me. I am 12 weeks pregnant and Jason has threatened me?" she asked.
Steven reached out and took her hand and said, "Yes!"
"Oh God! So Ric knows I'm 12 weeks?" Elizabeth said her voice getting louder as she gets more upset. She was talking in a normal tone of voice by the time she continued. "Then he knows this baby may not be his. Steven you need to help me I have to leave I can't do this to him."
Before Steven could answer Elizabeth Ric slowly sat up and looked at her. He smiled. "Elizabeth you're being silly. This is our baby. No matter who the biological father turns out to be. In the eyes of the law and in my heart this is our baby. Now stop being silly. I just got you back you can't leave me. Please!" Ric said his eyes full of tears.
Elizabeth stared at Ric and couldn't believe what Ric was saying. He still wanted her and this baby. She simply shook her head yes and motioned for him to come closer. Then when he did she pulled him to her and cried.
Not wanting to interrupt them Steven slowly slipped out the door.
After all the tears were done and lots of Kisses. Ric yawned again and laughed. He climbed up on to the bed with Elizabeth and snuggled her close to him and they both drifted off to sleep.
Two weeks had passed since Elizabeth had been admitted to the Hospital. There had been no more problems with Jason.
Elizabeth had spent Christmas in the hospital surrounded by her family and friends. It was a wonderful Christmas. Ric had looked very funny with a red nose and Foam reindeer antlers as they sang Christmas carols and opened their gifts. Ric had given her a beautiful ruby necklace and matching earrings. Elizabeth had given him a hand-tooled daytimer with the Lansing family crest and his name on the cover.
Lucky had even made sure they could kiss under the mistletoe he had held it over there heads. While everyone giggled and chanted Kiss her Kiss her.
Last night had been New Years Eve. Ric had brought dinner from the Grill complete with sparkling cider to toast the New Year. They had enjoyed curling up together to watch Dick Clarks Rocking eve and kissed at the stroke of Midnight when the ball fell to welcome in the New Year.
Now it was a new day, a New Year and Elizabeth was finally going home. She had a brace on her bad knee and her walking was very limited but she was well enough to go home. Ric had gone down wait for Nik's Limo because he swore that they would never fit all of the stuff from her room in the Lexus.
Steven was waiting with Elizabeth joking and laughing about her deserting him in the hospital when his beeper went off and he stepped out side to answer it.
Elizabeth was sitting on the bed waiting when the door opened she looked up smiling thinking it was Ric and was surprised to find Carly instead.
"Carly what do you want? Elizabeth asked trying to keep a neutral tone
"Do you realize that sonny got shot last night and it's all your fault? " Carly asked all attitude.
"I'm sorry to hear that sonny got shot!" Elizabeth said very concerned.
"I just bet your are. You are such a self centered little twit you don't realize that your selfish attitude and what you have done cause Sonny to get shot." Carly was screaming by now. "You had to have your cake and eat it to. You had to be a little whore and sleep with Jason then go running back to Ric with all his money. Guess you wanted to guarantee a meal ticket one way or another. You not being able to keep you damn pants on means my two best friends are gone and my husband was shot. What a fucking whore you are. You chased after Jason and he finally gave in are you happy."
Elizabeth stared at her amazed at what Carly was saying. "What's the matter Carly, jealous can't get Jason back in your bed since you bedded Sonny? Well since Jason was terrible and you still lust after him what does that say about Sonny?' She asked simply sick of Carly and all the rest of them.
Carly heard what she was saying about Jason and Sonny and saw Red. She screamed YOU fucking bitch as she stepped forward and slapped Elizabeth as hard as she could across the face.
Ric was walking in the front door after having the Limo parked in the patient pick up zone. He saw Sonny standing in the lobby with his arm in a sling. He started to walk by but was stopped when sonny said, "Ric can I have a minute?"
Ric stopped and said, "Ok! Sonny what do you need I am taking Elizabeth home today?"
Sonny looked at Ric flashing his smile. "I wanted you to know Jason is at the island I sent him there to cool off after you were at the penthouse."
"How do you know he will stay there? Ric asked.
"Simple My men have orders to shoot him if he comes back to Port Charles before the 30 days are over. I had no idea what he was doing Ric. I don't want anything bad to happen to Elizabeth or her baby. Sonny said very concerned.
"Thank you Sonny max and Johnny told me you had nothing to do with then Kidnapping. Ric said. He walked over to the elevator and punched the up arrow and was waiting.
"Ric could I come up and say Hello to Elizabeth? Sonny asked.
"Sure Sonny. I am sure Elizabeth would like a visit. Ric answered as he got into the elevator. Sonny followed him.
Steven had walked down to the nurses' station to answer his pager and was shocked as he heard a woman screaming in Elizabeth's room and then the sound of some one getting hit.
He rushed into the room and found a scrawny woman ranting and raving about what a little whore Elizabeth was. Elizabeth had a red handprint on her face and her eyes were full of tears.
He walked up behind the woman and grabbed her around the waist and started dragging the screaming and kicking woman out the door. "I have no idea what the fuck you are doing but you will not hurt Lizzie."
Ric and Sonny got off the Elevator Just as Steven came out of Elizabeth room dragging a kicking and screaming Carly. Sonny yelled, "let Go of My wife."
Ric said, "Steven what's going on why are you dragging Carly out of the room."
Steven looked over at Ric and said, "I have no idea that the @#%$ this Bitch and I don't care. She just went into Lizzie's room and was screaming at her! Which is bad enough, but then this scrawny Bitch slapped Lizzie hard enough to leave a welt."
Sonny was glaring, He yelled, "Carly what have you done!"
Ric said "turn her loose Steven."
Steven looked at Ric and then said fine and let go of Carly mid kick so she fell on her ass in the hallway
Carly got up and ran over to stand beside sonny crying She started to say something but was stopped by Sonny. "Not a word Carly" he said "Go to the Limo."
Carly took one look at sonny face and walked over to the elevator. Followed by Sonny.
Steven looked at Ric and asked, "What the hell just happened?"
Ric shook his head and said, "That was my sister in law Carly Cornithous and my half brother Sonny the biggest Mob boss in Port Charles. He went into Elizabeth room leaving Steven in the hallway.
Elizabeth was sitting on the bed holding her cheek. Ric walked over sat down and simply pulled Elizabeth into his arms and let her cry.
