Birds of the Same Heart

Raven sat atop the roof of the Teen Titan's tower, in a calm meditative state. When another being came and sat beside her she only cracked open an eye in the slightest to see Robin in her peripheral vision.
Raven calmly opened both eyes fully and turned to him. He turned to her also. "What's wrong Robin?" she asked serenly.
"I just needed some peace and quiet is all" he replied.
Raven nodded. She could sympathize with how he felt, as she often felt like that herself. She slowly rose herself off the ground and Robin stood as well. Raven arched one delicate eyebrow in question but he just shrugged it off.
When Raven and Robin entered the insides of the tower, it was unusually quiet. Raven walked to the kitchen and made herself a mug of hot tea. It was then she noticed the note left on the table. The other titans had gone to the mall and wouldn't be back for some time.
Raven replaced the note where she had found it and went out to the living room to read with her tea. Just as she picked up the book Robin came in and asked "Where is everyone?"
"Mall" came Raven's reply.
Robin only nodded and seated himself beside her. He turned the television on low and flicked absently through the channels.
Raven suddenly placed her book down and turned to Robin. Robin had been watching her out of his peripheral vision and now turned so he was fully facing her.
They only stared at each other in companionable silence for a few moments until Raven spoke.
"I don't know how to say this Robin but I know that to be at peace with my inner self I must tell you."
Robin just continued to watch her. The slight tremble of her hands, the way she would glance from him to her book and then back again, how her eyes almost glowed inside her hood.
"What is it Raven?" he asked after several minutes had passed.
"Do you know who I like?" she asked him, her eyes pinning him to the spot.
Robin smiled and replied "You like Beast Boy of course. It's painfully obvious."
Raven only shook her head and said "No."
Robin looked confused. "Then who-"
"You Robin" she answered. "You see" she began "look at our names. In all truthfulness Robin, isn't it more than a little strange that we both have superhero names of birds? Isn't that some kind of sign?"
Robin nodded slowly, more to himself than Raven. "I had been wondering about that."
Raven smiled and Robin smiled also. "You should smile more often Raven, your so beautiful when you do" he said truthfully.
Her smile only seemed to grow.
"I want you to know Robin" she began but was cut off. He placed a finger to her lips.
"I know. I love you too Raven" he said simply.
He then kissed her softly on the lips. It was a kiss that neither would forget, or ever wanted to.
"I guess we really are birds of the same heart" she said and leaned in to kiss him again.
