Together we stand in a vast field of flowers. The sky is clear and the sun shines warmly upon us as a gentle breeze plays across our faces. You smile at me and playfully run off into the field. Your auburn hair flows behind you just as the sea of blossoms flow with the wind. Following behind, I look into the clear blue sky and think to myself, becoming lost in thoughts and emotions. Then the answer comes to me as clearly as the rays of sunlight shining upon the land. Finally catching up, I see you kneeling in a bed of flowers, your dress spread around you as you tenderly pick the blossoms and fill your basket. You take a motherly care to pluck the flowers as gently as possible, and you smell each one as you add it to the collection. Stepping forward, I gaze upon your kind face, a light of its own seems to emanate from you and warm my heart. You look up to see me, and I see your smile. Your beautiful forest green eyes sparkle like gems as they catch the rays of the afternoon sun. I come closer and kneel down in front of you, and you hand me a flower. Gently I take it and smell it deeply, taking in its wonderful scent. "For you," I hear you say to me, your voice as gentle as the manner of all your actions. Feeling the warmth in my heart I finally break my silence with the words, "It is very beautiful, but the only flower I need...is you." Startled at my words you look at me confused and questioning. I take the flower, brush your hair aside, and place the bloom within its softness. My mind and soul shake with feelings and I decide to wait no longer as I look into your eyes and say, "I love you." I feel my spirit lighten with those words and longingly gaze at you waiting for some response. I feel a sadness come over me as I see your green eyes fill with tears. I wonder why you would cry and what I could do to help ease your pain, but I push all thoughts aside as I feel you place your hand upon mine, still laying on your cheek. The tears in your eyes are no longer saddening to me, as I see your smile and hear your response, "I love you as well." The warm sunlight mixes with a calm breeze as we look at one another, and I gather you in my arms. I hold you close to me and feel myself begin to shake with sobs of my own. "What is wrong?" you ask me with a caring voice. All I can do is cry with happiness, and continue to hold you in my embrace. "Nothing is wrong...everything is perfect...because I am with you."
