Disclaimer: Sadly, I only own the two worst characters, Kiryli and Kesael. A rainbow arched over the island, framing the house in color, almost as if it knew and reflected the joy within the walls. They were assembled in the courtyard. A small group clad in colors reflecting the rainbow above them, the air was heavy with their nervous excitement. Sam stood next to his sister, who gazed on with a look of fantasy in her eyes as if in a dream. The King and the Abhorsen were there too, Sabriel with the same dreamlike gaze as her daughter, yet somehow more rooted in reality.
Lirael and Nick gazed into each others eyes, as if they could see through to each others thoughts. As they stood there each was contemplating their decision, though they each knew that their destiny lay with the other. Nick, with free magic coursing through his veins, the remnants of his encounter with the destroyer, stared into the eyes of the one who had not only saved him, but the entirety of the world. An event that already seemed the far distant past, it seemed like something chronicled in a history book, not an experience in his life.
Lirael returned his gaze, though contrarily the charter ran pure in her blood. She gazed into his eyes and thought of how different her life would be, though it had always been far from normal to begin with. She couldn't help contemplating how she could be marrying the one who, so unwittingly, had almost destroyed the world over a year ago. She closed her eyes and realized that this was her fate, no not fate, that was to harsh a word, her destiny.
