A/N: So yeah. I had a complete lapse of judgement, and I decided that I don't really like the whole Lizzie situation thingie. It is kind of stupid, so I am really sorry, but I am going to change the story so that it never did happen. Not just because of the reviews, but because I am stuck with that storyline, and there really is not a lot to do with it now. I am already bored. On with the new and improved story.

I nervously tapped my fingers on the table next to me.

"Ethan Craft. Please come in."

I slowly got up and walked into the office of the prosecuting attorney.

"Hello, Mr. Craft. My name is Mr. Roberts, but you can call me Bill."

"Bill, do you know why I am here?"

"Yes, I got your message. What...happened when your mom died?"

"I came home, and my dad and his mistress were sitting at the table, and they told me that my mom had died in an accident. They were so calm, and I just thought it was a little weird..."

Ethan wiped his eyes, which were welling up with tears.

"I'm sorry."

"That's okay. You don't have to do this. Nobody is forcing you to."

Ethan looked up at Bill.

"I think that I need to for closure. I really loved my mom."

"If you want to. I just don't want you to relive the past again."

Ethan smiled.

"It's really okay. MY dad has stuck me in years of therapy."

Bill nodded kindly, as Ethan pulled the letter out of his backpack.

"I found this on his computer."

Bill took it, skimmed the contents, and placed it on his desk.

"Thank you, Ethan. See you tomorrow. Are you sure that you are ready for this?"

"I am sure."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

After his meeting with the attorney, Ethan rushed out and got into his car. When he was putting ong his seatbelt, his cell phone rang.

Ethan looked at the caller ID. Kate. Months ago, he would have loved this moment, but now it could only mean one thing.

She must be in trouble of some sort.

He flipped open his phone, and greeted Kate.

"Hey, Kate. What's up?"

"I need you to come pick me up. It's an emergency," the voice on the other line whispered.

"Wait, where are you?"

"My mom picked me up and took me to the abortion clinic after school, and I want to leave. Ethan, I need you."

"I'm at William Roberts' office. You know, the attorney? I will be there in a second."

"Ethan, hurry. I am hiding in the bathroom."

She clicked the phone off, and Ethan immediatley started to drive to the abortion clinic.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kate pulled her legs up into her chest, and sat there waiting for Ethan. Her mom trusted her to go in when the time came, and rushed off to go eat dinner with Steve.

Kate own phone rang from inside her purse.

"It's Ethan, and I'm right outside."

"Okay, thank you so much."

Kate ran outside, and jumped into the passenger side of Ethan's car.

"Kate, you can't do this forever."

Kate looked at the worried face of her boyfriend.

"I know, but I bought a little more time. I can tell my mom that I went ahead and did it."

"Kate...I don't know about all of this. Can't you even consider your mom's point of view?"

"Ethan....I want to do this. I have thought about it a lot, and I know that it is the right thing."

"When are you going to tell your mom?"

Kate hesitated.

"When the time comes, I don't know."

She gazed out the window, and Ethan could tell that this whole thing had taken it's toll on her. She had dark circles under her eyes, and she looked like she had not slept in days.

"Why were you at the attorney's office, anyways?"

"I am testifying against my dad."

"Oh."

The two remained silent for the rest of the way until Kate's house.

"Bye," Kate said, as she climbed out the car. "Do you want to come in? My mom is spending the night at Steve's."

Ethan considered the possibilty for a second.

"I don't know. Maybe it would not be best, you know, with the situation and all."

Kate bit her lip, and her eyes welled up.

"Okay, I will see you tomorrow."

"I won't be there. I will be at the trial."

"Ethan..."

"I'm sorry for being cross. I just don't know if this is the right thing sometimes, and I have got the trial tomorrow, and-"

"I'm sorry, Ethan. For being such a burden on you. Have fun."

She rushed up to the door of her house, opened it, and went inside. Ethan felt like he just wanted to crawl into bedm and sleep for the next week.
