"...Shut up. The cycle of nature and your stupid plan don't mean a thing. Aeris is gone. Aeris will no longer talk, no longer laugh, cry...... or get angry...... What about us...... what are WE supposed to do? What about my pain? My fingers are tingling. My mouth is dry. My eyes are burning!" The blonde ex-SOLIDER yelled, tears welling up in his eyes.
"What are you saying? Are you trying to tell me you have feelings, too?"
"Yes! I have feelings! Feelings for her! And now...I'll never get to tell her..." Cloud let it all go and fell to his knees beside Aeris's limp body. He took her hand in his and held it to his face, tears still falling from his sapphire eyes.

The mint eyed general could only laugh at how pathetic Cloud was. As he disappeared, Jenova took over and a battle ensued. Cloud, in his anger, quickly slain the creature.
He let his sword fall to the ground, as did himself. He picked up Aeris' body and laid it in his lap. Cloud held her hand in his and silently reminisced of all their times together; the Church, Wall Market, ShinRa Headquarters, Gonaga, and their date in the Gold Saucer... All of that seemed like it had happened so fast. And now she was gone.
'How I long for one more kiss, just to hold you once again
How I long to hear you say "our love's eternal, never will I leave from by
your side..."'
Cloud picked up the Ancient and slowly walked down to the Lifestream, where he lay her there, to become one with the planet. As her body sunk deep into the crystal clear water, Cloud's released his grip on her hand, and let her fall deep into the water, along with his tears.
He decided to go on, that he may get over it. But Cloud knew he wouldn't. Not for a long time. With an emptiness in his heart, he traveled on.
'I'll go my way, I journey on, now 'til forever
With the memory of our last kiss to keep me going
And though I am alone again, I shed not a tear
How beautiful is my loneliness, how great is my pain...
As night skies arrive, the heartache begins
