DISCLAIMER: I do not own the Titans. It's sad, but true. Especially when I think of Ryan Hurst, Kip Pardue, and Ryan Gosling.
And Craig Kirkwood. And Wood Harris... Oh, well! I DO own Anthony Budds. So please don't steal him. I know he's a minor character, but he is mine. Disney owns Ray and Alan, but the rest of the Titans own themselves. They are the coolest!
MY NOTES: Second to last chapter! Yay! I'm ready, I'm ready... OK, let me disclaim that phrase, too. I think it belongs to SpongeBob Squarepants. But since me and SpongeBob get along so well, he's letting me use it. Did I mention that I wish I owned Ryan Hurst? Oh, OK! Sorry, I won't say it again. At least not in this chapter! Here goes Sheryl's section! Oh, boy! I am SO almost done!!!! Oh, by the way, I'm sorry if these last two are a little weak. I was trying to get done! And also, I'm sorry that it's so short!
~Chapter 10: Sheryl~
Gerry Bertier. Where do I start? I've known him all my life. He was like my big brother. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. But as I read over this, I realized that everybody on the team felt like he was their brother. I guess it was kind of different to a girl, though. When I turned 16, and started to date and stuff, Gerry wanted to meet all my dates. He almost had a duck fit and a chicken spasm when I started dating Anthony Budds, Ray's younger brother. (Heaven help! Did I just say "A duck fit and a chicken spasm"?) But, he was WAY different than Ray. I never would have dated him if he was like Ray. It turned out that Anthony and Gerry got along just fine.
I guess I had a little bit of a crush on Gerry when I was little, 6 or 7. But the longer I knew him, the more it was like having a big brother, and crushing on him would be the same as crushing on a family member.
When my momma left me and Coach, Gerry helped me so much. Like when he told me that the divorce wasn't my fault. I knew that Gerry would never lie to me, so I took his word for it. He told me that if I ever needed him, he'd be there for me. And he was, too.
In 1971, when he had the first wreck, he asked me to be his eyes on the field. I promised that I would and I did my duty as, what Gerry called, an honorary Titan. None of the guys slacked off, but if they had, Gerry would have heard it from me. And he would have given them an ear full.
I can't count the times Gerry helped me, or others. He put alot of effort into making the world a better place, especially for those in wheelchairs. He was an amazing guy. And it was one of the greatest honors I ever received when he and Emma named you after me, Sheryl Jean.
Well, sorry that it is short, but that was the truth. Reader's Digest version. If I had taken the time to write the whole, unabridged story, there wouldn't be any room left for Coach Boone.
So, Good luck kids!
