Goodbye to the Past
by:albe-chan
Kagome sat her desk in her bedroom. She glared at the piece of paper in front of her. For a homework assignment, she had to write an original poem and turn it in by tomorrow. It was already 10pm so Kagome decided to just give up. She then her thoughts drift to other things and didn't even noticed when she bagan absently scrawling down her thoughts.
There I stood
By the gate
Into the past
The world I hate
My love lives here
And it makes me sad
Knowing that he loves another
And of the lack of feelings he ever had
As I step through through
I know my place
For in his eyes
I'm but a passing face
The journey is long
And I grow weary
Soon we rest
As my eyes grow teary
His false assurances
Mean nothing to me
For his loathing of my being
Is all I can see
He got what he wanted
I returned home
I'll never go back
To that land unknown
How he fares
I know not
I hope for his sake
That he is unhappy not
I loved him deeply
I cannot lie
But time eventually told me
I had to say Goodbye.
Kagome didn't feel the tears running down her cheeks. She hardly even noticed that she had completed the assignment. Suddenly there was a rapping at her window. She went over to it and opened it, the trails from her tears still visible upon her face.
He had come back. He had come back for her.
She no longered feared goodbye, because to her, it was only the beginning.
