Ororo Swept back into the mansion, her hair falling behind her as she glided and almost flew. Her face was storm cloud heavy and outside the sky seemed to echo her emotions. Later she would end the storm and take a firmer control but right now she did not care.

She felt the weather respond to her anger... no, her rage. The lightning that split the sky made her blood boil higher feeding her passion and rage which fed back into the power raising the storm. She rode the elevator impatiently and upon reaching her room, she impulsively turned to the window and threw it open, welcoming in the mad elements that felt her rage and raged with her.

The arrogance of Magneto! Even the name sounded arrogant like he was setting himself up as some kind of God! To so set himself up to change all those lives, and more to risk all of theirs because of his hubris! he was the worst kind of scum and traitor, not only to the nation and the world, but to his own kind. She knew he claimed to speak for and act for mutant kind and to her it was a delusional little lie told by a sorry little man who could not stand what had been done to him as a child and thus wished to inflict his pain on the world. she raged at the thought that he had almost killed that beautiful child Rogue. her potential unreached and her life unspent and he had almost thrown it away for his goddess-forsaken pretensions...

Ororo felt herself trembling with the rage and the room was suddenly too small for her. She ran for the window and the ledge outside it. She stepped out of the large window and felt the wind carry her a few feet. She smiled and sent her senses out into the night feeling the rage and the anger slip into the storm... slowly it bled off of her, slowly her rage so powerful, filled the storm instead and she was able to think clearly and assert her control and guide the deadly lightning strikes into the ground near the water, and into the old lightning rod on the boathouse. She slowly reduced it and reduced it until the storm died away and she felt cleansed and clean of not only her rage but the sorrow she felt .

Magneto had forsaken his people and today, she and her friends had saved them and others, against all odds. They had done good. With a final smile she turned her back and went inside to set up a gentle bath and her bed.

behind her a rainbow sprang up across the sky with the promise of the new day that Storm and the X-Men had fought for...
