A/N: So, another day, another one of my Degrassi fics. Hope you like!
Ellie Nash walked down the Degrassi Community School hallway, arm in arm with her boyfriend of three months, Sean Cameron.
"One more week.... then I'm outta here, thank God," Sean exclaimed, blowing out a small bit of air.
"It's not all bad, you know. And besides, you don't want to get into tenth grade, trust me," Ellie explained, she being in tenth and her boyfriend being in ninth.
"It must be better than having Kwan breathing down your back twenty-four seven."
"Is that so, Mr. Cameron?"
Kwan came behind Ellie and Sean, stopping at their backs and putting her head through the space that was created by their own. Sean let go of Ellie and turned to face his teacher.
"Well- uh... you see-" Sean stammered.
"Today. Lunch detention."
Kwan walked away from the couple and turned into her classroom. Ellie smiled, and started to burst out laughing. Sean did the same, as she started to keel over with laughter. They pressed their backs to the lockers and slid down, ending up on the cold tile floor.
"What- too many sugar shots?"
Sean and Ellie both looked up and opened their eyes, to see Craig Manning standing above them.
"I guess you could say that," Sean replied, as he took the hand Craig had reached out to him.
Craig pulled him up, and then went for Ellie. Ellie looked around to see if there was anybody standing next to Craig.
"Where's Marco?"
"Uh... I think I saw him disappear into the Janitor's closet with Dylan..."
Craig and Ellie both smiled, yet Sean just gave a scowl and looked down the hallway to the front doors.
"So, did you hear about Heather Sinclair's end-of-the-year party?" Sean asked the two, being quick to change the subject.
"Oh yeah. Hazel tipped me off... You guys gonna crash it?" Craig replied, giving a small arch of his eyebrow.
"Heather Sinclair? Party? That's not exactly my scene," Ellie commented, throwing Sean an anxious look, for a gleam had started to grow in his eyes.
"Come on, El. Live a little."
Sean gave Ellie a punch in the arm. Ellie scowled at her boyfriend, and then her face grew a scheming look.
"Fine. If I go, Marco goes. And usually if Marco goes, Dylan goes. So take your pick. Ellie, Marco, Dylan or no Ellie at all."
"Damn you're a tough bargainer, Ellie. Go easy on the kid," Craig said, as he gave Sean a pat on the back.
Sean frowned. He pondered the thought for a second, and then his own scheming look grew on his face.
"That's great with me, El. You, Marco, Dylan, Craig, and I will all go together," Sean replied.
Ellie gave her boyfriend a weird look, and so did Craig. Ellie and Craig both knew that Sean didn't care for Marco much, so why would he agree to take him to a party?
"Riiight... I'd better get going. Research for Catilin..." Ellie broke the silence.
Ellie gave Sean a kiss on the cheek, and waved a hand to Craig, her brow a bit furrowed. Craig waited several seconds before he turned to Sean.
"What the hell was that? You and I both know you can't stand Marco!"
"Well.... Yeah, I guess. But what Ellie didn't realize was that I said you would be coming with us."
"So?" Craig asked, confused.
"So.... Ellie never said i you i couldn't bring anyone... or everyone, should I say."
Craig and Sean both smiled, and looked down the hallway. Coming towards them was Manny Santos and Emma Nelson, both former girlfriends of the boys.
"You take Emma, I'll take Manny," Sean whispered into Craig's ear.
"Emma!" Craig said.
"What?" Emma asked, giving Sean a quick glare.
"Uh... there's this party. Friday night? I was wondering if you'd like an invite."
"Craig, that's sweet, but you know that Chris and I are dating."
Craig chuckled.
"No- no. I was just inviting you- bring Chris along, if you'd like."
"Sounds good to me, Em," Manny butted in.
"Right... whatever. Where?" Emma asked.
"Heather Sinclair's. I overheard Paige talking about it during cheer practice... she's still pissed at Heather for placing higher in the gymnastics tourney," Manny informed the three, obviously making an effort not to face Craig.
"And spread the word, K'?" Sean asked.
"We'll be sure to do that-"
Manny immediately stopped as something caught her eye.
"JT!"
Manny waved her hand in the air, mouthing Sean and Emma a 'bye', again trying to avoid Craig. She linked an arm with her new boyfriend, and kissed him on the cheek. Emma smiled at Craig, and it shrunk as she looked at Sean. She walked away and opened her locker door not seven feet away. Chris came up behind her and wrapped an arm around her waist.
"Looks like everybody's found their match made in heaven, huh?" Craig asked Sean.
Sean gave a weak smile.
"She'll come, dude. Don't worry- she'll come."
Sean walked away, leaving Craig behind. Craig leaned against a locker, and brushed back a strand of hair that hung in his face.
"But what if she already has?" he whispered, as he watched Manny and JT turn the corner.
