Goodbyes.

Harry was silently staring out of the window, not realizing the train had stopped. His thoughts centred on the loss of Sirius, the guilt weighing heavily on his heart. In his mind's eye, he could see him falling through the veil, the gleeful laughter of Lestrange echoing harshly in his ears.

"Harry! Harry! Come on, we're at the station! Everyones getting off!" He turned his head sharply, and saw Ron standing there with his trunk. "Ok, I'm coming." He gathered his belongings and followed Ron off the train. He looked around the station, remembering his last visit, expecting to see a large dog bounding happily amongst the crowd.

But then he realized, he would never see Sirius again. The thought almost made him cry, but choking down the tears he stepped through the barrier, the last link to his world before he had to see those wretched muggles again.

He caught up with the Weasleys, and saw several Order members with them. This puzzled him, until he saw his uncle walk up to them. Mad-eye and the others confronted Uncle Vernon, warning him not to mistreat Harry in any way during the holidays. Vernon's face swelled up indignantly, turning the colour of ripe beetroot. Stuttering incoherantly, he told Harry to leave with him. He said a qiick goodbye to everyone, giving Remus a quick hug, then walked off behind his uncle.

They made it out to the car, where Vernon told him to hurry up and get in the car, all the while muttering threats and obscenities about how nobody should dare talk to him like that.

Harry settled in the backseat, not listening to a word. He looked mournfully out of the window, knowing that his life would be hell for the next few weeks.

How he wished that Dumbledore would let him stay with his friends, but he knew it wasnt possible. No, how could he put his friends at risk like that. A quick prickling in his scar was a foreboding reminder of the events of the school year, and he knew that although his relatives would treat him like hell, he would be safe from Voldemort, and maybe it would be a good chance to learn and work hard.

Now that he knew the contents of the prophesy, he knew he had to pay him back for all the pain he'd caused, to his parents, Cedric, Sirius and everybody else who's lives had been ruined.

An image of his godfather appeared in his mind, laughing and joking over Christmas dinner. Tears silently rolling down his cheeks, he made a silent promise that he would never forget him, and that he will fight in his name.

The pain was still there, but the burden of guilt was slightly lessened. Yes it would be a long hard summer, but with the Order around, it would be better than most.

What do you think? First thing I ever wrote. Any feedback would b appreciated please.
