***Story about John and a mystery girl, they thought their love was enough but it turned out that sometimes love isn't enough.***
Disclaimer: I don't own John Cena, sadly, and I don't own the song.
Once again we sit in silence
After all is said and done
Only emptiness inside us
Baby, look what we've become
We can make a million promises
But we still won't change
It isn't right to stay together
When you only bring each other pain
John and the girl sat there on the couch, they could no longer deny it; There was no love between them anymore. As much as they tried to make it work, the fact was that there was no spark, not like the one they had when they first met. They both looked at each other; they couldn't read each other any longer. They were becoming the one thing they swore they would never be, strangers.
I don't wanna cry
Don't wanna cry
Nothing in the world
Could take us back
To where we used to be
Though I've given you my heart and soul
I must find a way of letting go
'Cause baby, I don't wanna cry
Too far apart to bridge the distance
But something keeps us hanging on and on
Pretending not to know the difference
Denying what we had is gone
Every moment we're together
It's just breaking me down
I know we swore it was forever
But it hurts too much to stay around
They stood up and hugged each other, one last time. She smiled weakly; there was nothing else to be said. She heard a car honk outside; he's waiting for her. She walked to the door, turning around; she saw John had sat back on the couch, hands in his face. She took a breath, turned the doorknob and walked outside, with one lone tear on her cheek.
All the magic's gone
There's just a shadow of a memory
Something just went wrong
We can't go on make-believing
John tried so hard to deny it, he just didn't want to see that it was over, she's moved on and he can't blame her. He wasn't there for her, not like a boyfriend should be. The lifestyle he lived was just too much for them; he heard the door close and a few moments later, a car door slam. She happier now, John said to himself. She's got someone who can be there for her, more than he was there for her. Then it hit him, she was gone. Four years they shared, gone. John cracked and let the tears flow. He would never love someone as much as he loved her.
