"Why are we doing this Spin?" Marco, a slim boy with messy black hair and a sweet soul patch to match, complained as he helped his friend set up a school borrowed telescope.
"Because Mr. Simpson insisted on a group project about space and we just happened to get stars," Spinner stated what Marco already knew. Spinner looked much different than Marco, he had bleached blond hair and was more muscular.
Marco smirked, laughing at his friend's obliviousness to the world at times. The sun had only gone down an hour ago and they had driven to the suburbs to get away from the city lights. The soil was hard, but the grass became soft thanks to a nice furry blanket Spinner brought. Not only was it furry, but it was large. Marco brought along coffee for the both of them so they could easily stay awake and awe at the beauty of the sky. He also brought chocolate and chips for instant stomach satisfaction.
Spinner finally got the telescope set and rested himself down a few feet away from Marco on the blanket. Ever since he found our Marco was gay things that never been the same between them. Things got weird. He started to question himself.
"When do you think the stars will show?" Spinner turned his head, pointing up towards the sky.
"More will come as it gets darker," Marco sighed, sprawling out on his side of the blanket. "Just wait."
"Easy for you to say," Spinner spurted out, eyeing Marco's thermos. "Can I have some of that?"
"Help yourself."
Spinner leaned towards him to reach the steaming hot coffee but something else happened. He kissed Marco.
Marco looked up at his extremely straight friend, or who he thought was extremely straight, and stared. Spinner was almost on top of him, resting his groin on Marco's Levi Jeans clad hip.
Spinner then kissed him again. The first kiss declared everything he wasn't sure of, the second made it true. He rolled his hand up to his head, feeling every hair strand go through his fingers. Each kiss sent fireworks throughout his body, making him want more.
At times Marco had to open his eyes to make sure it wasn't some kind of sick dream, it was reality. He wasn't sure what to think of it. Yeah, his friend was on top of him, feeling him and kissing him, but why? Marco had never really thought of Spinner in a romantic way. Spinner was just one of the guys who always reminded him of his sexuality, and not always in a good way.
The kisses became deeper and deeper, each of them holding onto each other and moving rhythmically.
After a few minutes Marco finally pulled away out from beneath Spinner.
"What's wrong?" Spinner asked, seeing the scared expression on his face.
Marco wasn't sure what to say so instead he looked up at the sky, "The stars are out."
Spinner looked up to see what looked like millions of tiny dots brighten up the dark night sky. He had never seen so many in his life, it was like a dream. He turned to Marco, kissed him and smiled.
"Yeah, there's stars all around us."
