Arwen was impressed. Being an elf, she could see the palace long before the others and she was very impressed by what she saw. The only other place that she had ever 'seen' such monuments built by Men, was Minas Tirith in Gondor.
"Lady Arwen, we will not have time to get you into something more appropriate so, when we enter the throne room stay near the entrance and let me do the talking unless the King gives you permission to come forward and speak. Before you talk, it is required that you bow twice. I am telling you this because when I first saw you I realized that you are most definitely not from around here and thought that you will need to be told some of the customs and etiquette so that you will not look like a fool. If you need help with anything else
I will be glad to accommodate you." Mary explained
"Thank you Lady Carey. I am in your debt. When will we be meeting with the King?" she asked
"As soon as we arrive. Oh...wait...he may not be there when we arrive. He might have gone out hunting. We will find out when we get there."
~Sometime later.~
"Your Majesty." Mary said, bowing before King Henry the Eighth.
"Ah, Lady Carey. I see that you are well." he replied
"I am well, Your Majesty. Thank you for asking."
"Who is this that you have brought with you?" he asked
"Your Majesty, this is Lady Arwen. My men found her on our way here to Greenwich." Mary said, introducing her
"Come forward, Lady Arwen. There is no need to bow, my advisors aren't around." he said kindly
"Thank you, Your Majesty." she said approaching him, obviously glad that she did not have to bow
"So, Arwen...where are you from? You do not look French, Spanish or any other nationality that I know of. Where is your family and what are their names?"
"I am from Rivendell, Your Majesty. I do not recognize these...
'nationalities' that you speak of. My family is in Rivendell. My father's name is Elrond, my brother's names are Elladan and Elrohir." Arwen replied, somewhat hesitantly.
"Rivendell? I do not recognize this 'Rivendell' either. What of your mother?" he asked her pressingly
"My mother's name was Celebrian. She was...killed."
"I am so sorry Lady Arwen. I should not have asked." Henry said somewhat sadly
"I forgive you, Your Majesty. There was no way that you could have known about my mother."
"Very well then! Lady Carey, do you know of anyone that Lady Arwen can share a bed with? Also would you be kind enough to show her around?"
"Yes, Your Majesty I would be glad to do so. The only person that can share a bed with her is me." Mary replied
"Then it is settled."
