AN: Hey, thanks to those of you who reviewed. Now, here's the next chapter. The first two chapters are the only short ones. I promise!

Chapter 2

The next day Jamie woke up feeling fresh and new, but still remembering yesterday. 'I really hope I don't see him again.' She thought as she passed the picture she had looked at the previous night.

She made herself some pancakes, and opened the blinds. The sun poured into the room and on to the breakfast table, just the way Jamie liked it.

Before Jamie could even take the first bite of breakfast, someone knocked at the door. She got out of her chair, and went to the door. As she looked through the peak hole, she saw one happy face she was ready to see again.

"Eric!" She squealed as she opened up the door.

Even though things didn't go down well with Landon, Jamie had always been good friends with Eric once she and Landon had started dating.

"Jamie baby!" He said in delight, "How great to see you again! Landon said that he saw you, so I wanted to see you myself."

"Well, that's very nice of you. Yes, I got here yesterday, and had the unfortunate experience of seeing Landon again." She said

Eric laughed, "Ah, come on Jamie. Landon's been so heartbroken since you left. He hasn't dated a single girl, or has even shown an interest in dating since.

As Jamie sat down on the couch and gestured for Eric to join her, she said, "Well, it's his own fault."

Eric sighed, and then sat down. He looked at her and said seriously, "Jamie, that thing that you saw was never suppose to happen."

"Eric, you don't understand. I loved Landon, and then he had to go and cheat on me. I broke my heart. I have never been able to get over that. I haven't been able to move on, and let someone else in. There's a part of me that will always love Landon, but there's a bigger part that will never be able to forgive him either. He really hurt me Eric."

Jamie looked up at Eric and noticed he was crying.

"Eric, what's wrong. Listen, I now he's your best friend but-"

"Jamie, I feel awful for pain that made both of you suffer for so long." He said

"But Eric, it isn't you fault." Jamie said, trying to help, but Eric just cried harder.

"No, it is my fault. That whole thing that happened was my fault. And I'll never forgive myself for it."

"Eric? What are you talking about?"

"It wasn't Landon who was cheating on anyone, it was me. I had a girlfriend, it you will remember. But there was another girl too. We were about to you know, have sex, but then Lanna, my girlfriend, had come in, and I didn't know it. Landon saw her coming, and wanted to help me. So he pretended that other girl was his girlfriend. And Lanna didn't know that Landon was dating you, so she fell for it. Then you had to walk in too. It was because I was so selfish, that you hated Landon, and both of you are miserable now. Landon never wanted to tell you the truth, 'cause he didn't want me to get into trouble. I was drunk that night; I never meant to have sex with that other girl. I'm so sorry Jamie, and I can't believe that I keep this from you for so long."

Jamie didn't need to say anything; she was bawling her eyes out.

"I won't blame you if you never want to see me again." Eric said

But Jamie looked up at him and smiled, "Of course I don't blame you Eric. You're one of my best friends. I forgive you."

"Will you forgive Landon too?" Eric asked

"Yes," Jamie said, nodding her head, "I suppose I'll have to."

After a little bit more talking, Eric said sorry again, and they hugged and said goodbye. Jamie watched him go and then looked back at her now cold pancakes, and she didn't feel very hungry anymore.

Jamie knew that she'd have to find Landon and apologize, but she didn't feel ready quite yet.

She decided to go for a walk, to help her get her mind of things, aka Landon. Jamie wasn't really paying attention to where her feet were taking her, until she ended up at her Dad's church. In the back of the church was a cemetery, where both of her parents were buried.

In the front of the church was where the garden was always growing fresh beautiful flowers. Every Sunday Jamie would pick flowers from the front, and she and her Dad would go lay them on her mother's grave.

Now Jamie picked twice as many flowers, and brought them to the back. The first grave she went to was her mother's. She laid down the daisies (which were her mother's favorites), and started talking out loud to her.

"Hi Mom." She said, "I must say, I haven't visited you for a while, so I'm sorry about that. I've been really busy with my career and all. I know you would be really proud of me. I hope you and Dad are doing okay up there, and I'm sure you are. I really miss you, and I promise to come back more often."

Jamie then moved to the next grave, her father's. She put the sunflowers down and again, started talking.

"Hey Dad. I just wanted to let you know that we're going to hold your funeral tomorrow. I wish you where here right now, I could really use the advice. It turns out you were right about Landon. He wasn't cheating on me. He was the best thing that every happened to me. And now it's too late. Well, anyway, I'll be praying for you and mom. I love you guys."

She wiped off her tears, and stood up.

"Jamie?" Came a voice from behind.

Jamie turned around and the person she didn't want to see, but now for a completely different reason.

AN: I know this chapter was really sappy but I couldn't find another way to tell what happened.
