The Next Day..................
Amarie was walking through the woods by herself. As she walked she was picking up the wildflowers that grew along the path that she had as a child with Elbereth, her sister. To her those had been the happy times, for now she was sad and downhearted because she knew in her heart that her father was really going to make her marry Legolas. Oh the tears that had streamed, and were pouring, down her face over this! She knew that there was almost nothing she could do, but still she just sat down and wept.
Suddenly Amarie heard someone walking towards her. "Who's there," she called out.
"Only I, a lonely elf like your self," said a male voice.
"How do you know that I am not crying for joy? And again who are you? What is your name?" Amarie said, finally looking up.
"No elf weeps for joy, they sing, or dance. And I am Earendur Telemnar, an elf that has been here longer than you can remember. I also know why you cry for I am very observant and could hear you crying from a great distance."
"If you have been here for so long, why is it that I have never heard you mentioned at my home?"
"Because in my younger days I did things that were not looked upon favorably by the other elves, and so I was banished and told to live as a wander and alone the rest of my days."
"What did you do?"
"I cannot tell you right now, I must go, for I hear someone coming."
And as Amarie watched Earendur Telemnar vanished from her sight.
