"Hello Hermione."
Hermione reluctantly drew her eyes away from the window and looked in front of her. She knew that voice.
"Hi."
"What's this Hermione?" Hermione sighed, and looked at the paper Draco was holding. She wished he didn't sound so angry.
"I don't know Draco, I can't see that far. Why don't you bring it here and let me tell you?"
Draco blew out his breath angrily, and struggled to compose himself.
"Dammit Hermione you know what this is, how could you hide that from me?" Draco asked in a strained voice. Hermione shrugged and looked out the window again. Draco strode over to her and grabbed her by the shoulders. He saw the look of fear in her eyes and swore under his breath. Nothing he did seemed to be right.
"Hermione," he said more gently, "you know if you had told me you were pregnant I never would have married Ginny."
Hermione smiled sadly, and put her hand over his.
"So you'd marry me out of pity?"
"You know that's not true, I love you. I always have, though God knows it wasn't always the right thing to do. Can you honestly tell me that you think I wanted to marry Ginny? I loved you more than my own life Hermione. How could you accuse me of that?"
Hermione looked away then, she knew she was hurting him, but it was the only way to keep him away from her. She needed to stay strong, for both their sakes, not to mention Ginny.
"How could I not?" she asked bitterly. Draco flinched and turned away.
"Either way, we have to work together now for the baby's sake. I told you in the beginning it wasn't a good idea to hide our relationship from Ginny, it was bound to come out sooner or later I mean- "
"I'm not keeping it."
"It's not as if- what?"
"I'm not keeping it." Hermione repeated steadily. She didn't dare look straight at Draco, he would see through the lie right away.
"What's happened to you? How can you say something like that?" Draco asked softly. Hermione took a deep breath and steadied herself.
"If you can take care of you father's bastard child, than I think that I can change too. I'm not keeping the child, and if I do you can be certain that you'll never see their face. Now get out of my room."
Draco stared at her for a moment, then nodded, and wordlessly left the room. Hermione immediately sank down into her bed. She waited a few seconds before allowing herself to weep for the love she had just lost.
***Hopefully it's a tad bit more clear now.......but in case it's not........i'm probably going to do a flashback thing next chapter with Ginny and Lucius........anyway keep reviewing!***
