Harry pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. Potions homework and a Divination assignment - just the recipe for hours and hours of boredom and frustration. He was really beginning to regret turning down Hermione's offer to help.
Putting his glasses back on, he crossed over to the window and stared out with his hands shoved deep in his pockets. It was a cold night and a light rain of snowflakes was starting to fall from the velvety black sky. He wondered what Ron and Hermione were doing. Arguing probably. He shivered and wrapped his arms around himself, about to return to his schoolwork when he thought he noticed something -someone- moving towards the Forbidden Forest. He looked harder. Nothing.
"You're seeing things." He muttered moving away from the window. "And now talking to yourself. Great."
He packed up his things and headed for the Gryffindor tower, preparing himself for another restless night of no sleep.

Panting, Draco slowed to a stop just outside the Forest. He stole a quick glance up at the castle, which looked very menacing against the dark sky, and entered the Forest.
His heart pounding (he hated the Forest) he slipped between trees, over logs and branches and under twisting writhing vines to a small clearing set towards the heart where the canopy was too think for snow to penetrate.
There, in a neat semi-circle, stood Lucius Malfoy and four others, their faces concealed by their robes.
"Draco." Lucius's silky voice greeted his son. His eyes glittered. "I trust you allowed no-one to see you."
Draco bowed his head until his blond locks brushed lightly against his collarbone. "Yes father."
"Good." From inside his robes Lucius withdrew something clutched inside his fist. "We are trusting you with this, Draco. Use it very wisely." He unfurled his fingers and the fine silver chain glinted in the dark.
Draco took it carefully and slipped it over his pale head. "Thank you father." He breathed, honored at having such an important task entrusted to him. Lucius nodded curtly, just once, and said: "Don't fail us. Now go."
Draco nodded eagerly and backed away into the Forest again. Only when he was a few meters away he turned his back to the clearing and struggled his way out. Once he was out he traced his fingers over the purple stone hanging from the chain which rested on his chest. "I won't let you down. I promise."
He tucked the chain under his shirt and sped back to the castle.
