Chapter 2 "Arnott, you seem fairly determined to acquire that HitroMeter. Am I not correct?" says a voice from the shadows. Arnott stares at this man back blankly as there are a couple seconds of silence. "Well? No answer. You probably have no idea what's going on, and I'm not about to explain to you. You will have to try to get the answers out of me." Arnott who had been sitting in the light that shone on him, immediately stood up. "What in the world was that thing??" He waved a fist at the man and then Professor Height steps out of the shadows and begins to speak again. Arnott takes his seat calmly, looking somewhat mesmerized by Height's presence. "Well do you know that realm you entered? Yes I know about that realm you entered. I have entered that realm like you, but unlike you I touched the lights. When I write my novels, I think about life, and try to teach the world my perspective on life, and I've entered that realm a few times. But I was not able to resist, and you know what I did. See, there is a fine line between greatness and insanity. You can take many of the greatest novelists of all time, and do research on their lives and you'll see that they were troubled and many eventually commit suicide. Well, slowly I am losing my sanity as well, and with each book and each thinking session I have been losing it." Arnott then goes to away. "Ah, he has gone back. But he's safe, the HitroMeter will be his savior. I just hope that no one else was captivated by the HitroMeter. Or they could be in grave danger." *** The world is black again. There is nothing left of it. All that remains is the lights that are dimly lit. Suddenly, a golden glow ball that floated in the air like a balloon, arose from a little boy and girl lying on the empty floor. It whizzed around and lighted the area as it went along. The world was no longer rooted with evil; it was no longer dark. And the children that had been motionless on the floor were beginning to stir. The life and color was coming back in them. Arnott was the first to rise. Followed by a girl he had never seen before. This girl was obviously as short as he was, since as they stood side by side, you could stick a ruler on the top of their heads, and it would be level. This girl was young, but obviously a Dirkenmire student as she dawned the school attire. "Hello, who are you?" asked Arnott ignoring the light that was around him. The girl was deranged. She began yelling, "Where am I? What is this?" The girl clamored and repeated this over and over again running around like a crazed maniac. Until suddenly she stopped and her eyes met with Arnotts and she moved closer to him. She had become calm, and had stopped her berate of "Where am I? What is this?" and said, "Who are you?" But once she said that, there was only a short pause until she continued her rampant cries of confusion. Arnott tried to calm her down, but to no avail, so he gave up. Arnott looked around the now brightly lit room, and went exploring. He was stumbling along and something made contact with his foot. It was a tranquilizer. And immediately, like anyone, he knew that this was the solution to his problem, and that was calming someone down. He had wandered far from the original room from which she had seen the girl, but he was able to make it back easily with no mishaps. There was a sense of familiarity in him that seemingly guided him back to the room. He entered the room, but the girl was no longer on psychopathic rampage, but now was approaching the lights on the far end of the room. Out of instinct, he quickly ran over and yelled, "Stop, those lights will cause you severe torment. You do not want to go there." But the girl would not stop and there was a look in her eyes. Something that made her want to go to the lights and forget anything that was around her. The girl pulled her hand up, and extended it towards the light. But it never made it there. For something solid as steel had knocked her down. There was liquid spilling over the girl who now lay on the ground just as she lay when she entered. He knew that if the liquid from the tranquilizer had had just thrown were to come in contact with her skin for long time, it would eventually kill her. The liquid in the tranquilizer consisted of extremely small molecules that had the ability to seep through skin cells, so if enough of the venom inside the gun were to enter through the skin and enter her blood stream, it would immediately begin to poison the blood and make it fallible and the vital organs would cease to function. He kicked the gun away, but to his eye's horror, the liquid had already begun oozing out and he immediately began to strip this girl of her clothes. He began by taking ripping off her blouse and unstrapping her bra. "That should do it. She should be fine now. There is no tranquilizer liquid left. Now who is this girl?" Something in his mind struck him. But in reality, the HitroMeter that had remained whizzing had struck Arnott, and again printed letters in the smoke as it had done in the Chemistry Classroom. "Kimberly. This is her name." "Kimberly huh? Cool name. Too bad you had to go through this. Too bad you had to enter this realm. Now I must figure out how to get you out. I love you."
