'BECAUSE I CAN' By Tanx
Chapter one - Anticipation
Ginny glanced over her shoulder as she walked to the deserted bathroom.
Her footsteps echoed and bounced off the tiled walls, breaking the perfect silence and stillness.
'What do YOU want.' A voice broke the subtleness.
'Oh.' Ginny startled a response.
'Last time I saw YOU was when you flooded my bathroom. Never got to clean it up so it's stayed like this. Want to know why?'
Ginny looked blankly at Moaning Murtle. 'No Myrtle, why?' She honestly didn't really want to know. She was there for one thing – to meet HIM.
'Because in case you haven't noticed...I'M A GHOST!'
Myrtle's moans and groans didn't interest Ginny in the slightest. She picked up a fallen tap off the ground and threw it into the basin. 'And now you're poking fun! Heartless!'
'No Myrtle I didn't . . .I wasn't . . .' Ginny protested, yet Moaning Myrtle continued her mangled triumph.
'Stupid. Rude. I'm going back to my U-Bend and I don't want to see you hear again . . .'
Ginny watched the floating figure disappear into the bowl. Every motion marked in the air by a wisp of smoke.
Ginny wandered around the deserted bathroom aimlessly. Her eyes stopped on the portrait of a withered old witch. Her eyes followed Ginny as she roamed around, filling in time.
Five minutes till he's coming. . .
3 minutes . . .
1 minute . . .
Lunch hour was almost over and Ginny was almost dying of anticipation.
'Where is he?' She thought, every drop of sweat on her forehead shining like a gem.
Ginny was ready to turn around and leave for dinner when a voice broke the lingering silence.
'Thought I might find you here.'
Ginny turned around and smiled at the dark figure.
'I thought you weren't going to come.' She said, teasing.
'Me? Not show up?'
He kissed her gently on the forehead.
'Never.'
