Summary: Remus is finally cured.

Author Note: Just a short story about my favourite professor in which with a little magic (and a key board) I cure!

Healing Spirit

Watching the last essences of the evening light slowly disappear beyond the horizon, Remus couldn't help but admire its beauty. He watched the swirls of colours mingle with each other, gold and pink entwined with blue and red.

He raised his head to catch the slight breeze that ruffled his dark blond hair and tattered clothing, breathing deeply and exhaling with a sigh.

Never before would he have been able to take pride in an everyday occurrence such as this, never before would he have dared. To watch the sunset and the moon appear in its full brightness was a treasured sight. Especially for those who were cursed like himself.

Things were different now. He had changed. He couldn't explain how it was possible, but it had happened. He was free from the pain and torture, free from the nightmares that plagued his mind day and night. He was no longer a creature of the night, no longer a killer that needed to be chained to a wall, or locked away in a damp cell. No longer despised for what he was.

He closed his eyes, unshed tears threatening to fall before reopening them just in time to watch the light disappear completely from the sky and the moon shine brightly, velvety blue surrounding its ethereal glow.

"Its really over" he breathed, one lone tear trailing down his pale cheek to fall delicately onto the grass below. "I'm cured".

Images of the past few days flashed through his mind. A time in which he would have given up life itself if not for the support of his friends. He was lonely and depressed. His soul cried out to the deities above praying for salvation, a miracle, anything to take away the pain.

They had answered. Taking pity upon his restless spirit they had granted him the release from the nightmare. A cure had been formulated. And now he stood there, outlined in silver from the glowing orb in the sky, he stood there. A man. No longer an animal.

A man whose spirit had been healed.
