Unbound Nightmares

Chapter One:
Where to Run
I thought I had come back. To the islands that is.
The sand felt hot beneath my feet like it used to. The waters where lukewarm, like a nice bath. Just right. The cool, gentle breeze tossed my hair about.
Tidus' wooden sword lie on the patio next to Wakka's blitz ball.
Everything seemed normal. Everything, except that no one was here.
I had thought that, since the Heartless had only just been defeated, that it would take some time for every one to reappear.
They didn't.
A month passed, and not a soul came or went. Even the seagulls seemed to have vanished.
I was all-alone...
There where many islands. The one that harbored my home, along with the others' houses where far from the main land. Not very far, but far enough to have to use a boat to make our way here.
This was our island, and we came here everyday. We came here to get away from everything.
We spent nights here, camped out on the beach, a small bonfire going to lend us light.
Wakka and the older kids had built everything. The shack, the tree houses, the patio, everything.
I didn't want to go home, but how could I.
I had climbed the less-hazardous mountain cliff and looked out to sea, but I didn't see anything.
My home wasn't there.
So, I slept in the tree house most of the time, sometimes nodding off on the little pier.
I visited the secret cave once or twice everyday. I cried in there. I remembered my friends and drew on the walls, completing a picture that I was sure had been added on to.
But yesterday...
I sat on the paopu tree, watching the sunset glow a cherry red. Almost... blood red.
We had sat here so often, watching the horizon as the sun died, resurrecting the moon with its brilliance.
I sat there. I remembered Sora, and leaned into him...
My head hit something hard, and then...
~ ~ ~
I laid there, on the hard, stone floor. The air above me was hot and damp.
I groaned, and I opened my eyes.
My surroundings... were different.
Pipes leading every which way.
I had only seen such things at Hallow Bastion.
Red smoke hung overhead.
The boiler room was indeed, a scary place.
~ ~ ~
That wasn't much, but it was still something.
Ahead, an unlikely foe, along with other implications. Sorry I can't tell you more.
