A/N: I'll give you this little prologue to see what you think.
Prologue- Beaufort, North Carolina
Landon stepped out of his SUV and stepped into a world that smelled like jasmine and magnolia. A world that mixed roses with the sea, a world where the tides came in and out, and where love was easy to find.
On that day, true to the meaning of perfection, he mingled in the driveway for a minute while he thought of that faithful day when his ability to love disappeared and his soul had died.
The day when the world stood lonely and quite, and the day when the God, whom Jamie loved and embraced so much ,turned his back on her. And the day when Landon cried a lake, worthy to be called the Dead Sea.
Little did he know, that the day had come for someone else to enter Landon's life. This woman went by the name Angela Brown. The girl whom he once drove home after the prom, the girl whom he shared his first French kiss, and the girl he had dated before he knew Jamie.
Twisting his wedding ring he remembered what Jamie had last said to him. He was next to her bed, squeezing her hand, and telling her how much he loved her. Putting a finger to his mouth, Jamie shushed him and shot him a mischievous glance.
"Landon?" She asked, laying back in her bed.
"Yeah Jamie?"
"You know where I want to be when I die?"
"Where?"
"In your arms, and that's where I want to stay." She whispered to him as she drifted off into a deep slumber. "Where I want to stay."
Sighing into his arm, he stood up and left the cramped room, to leave Jamie alone for the night, and he prayed that just maybe she would be still there tomorrow.
The next day Landon paced around the floor and bit his nails until they were bloody. "Calm down boy." Rev. Sullivan murmured, his face pale and drawn. Sitting down, Landon reached for a magazine to ease his nerves when the nurse came out of Jamie's room.
Slowly she said,
"I'm sorry, but she's dead."
