Author's Note: In case my grammatical errors caused confusion in the last chapter, I'd like to correct some of them. There were only three SKEEBIKEs, one had 4 & 3, the other 1 & 5, and the last one 30C. This is Chapter Five, please read and review.

Disclaimer: Refer to Chapter One

Chapter Title: Robot Gone Berserk

About 12 miles from the KND Antarctic Base

274 leapt out of the way as the HORNET dove right at him. Apparently, the HORNET had anticipated this since it fired a net just as it passed by 274.
But 274 reacted quickly, he grabbed his helmet and flung it at the net. The helmet struck the net and got ensnared instead of 274. 274 didn't celebrate, he looked up and saw the robot circling for another pass.
'I'd better get some weapons or I won't last long against that thing.' Thought 274. He ran quickly for the crashed hulk of the MOSQUITOH. The HORNET flew after him, firing nets which 274 managed to dodge. 274 jumped into a hole in the side of the MOSQUITOH's fuselage. He quickly crawled around inside the wreck, searching for weapons he could use against the robot insect.
Outside, the HORNET circled the wreck. Its computer brain analyzed the situation and decided to flush out its intended target by destroying the wreck he was hiding in. Its abdomen pointed down as two hloes opened on its side. Out of the holes came billiard-ball firing gatling-guns. The HORNET aimed and fired.
274 had just found a weapon when the compartment behind him was torn to shreds. He scrambled out of the way as the rain of billiard balls tore apart the place he had been standing on moments ago. He gritted his teeth as he crawled toward the hole he had come in through. He sat by it as he aimed the weapon out of the hole. It was a KND beam weapon made with pieces of wood and metal and had a bottle for a barrel. (In case you don't remember, this weapon appeared in the Operation: CHAD episode)
274 looked through the hole and waited for the robot to circle back. He saw it turn toward his direction, abdomen poised. He raised the gun and followed the robot with it. 'Come on.' He mentally urged the machine. 'Closer, closer...'
274 pulled the trigger and the weapon jerked in his hands as it fired. The beam lanced from the weapon and, from sheer chance, proceeded into one of the HORNET's missile ports. The beam struck one of the missiles, causing it to detonate. The detonation caused an explosive chain reaction as the other missiles detonated as well.
"Yeah!" 274 cheered as the rear half of the insect-like robot blew apart. He grinned in satisfaction as the front half fell to ground with an audible thud.
274 peered out of the hole. He remembered the auto-repairing WOLF robots and he wasn't sure if this robot wasn't similarly capable. He watched the fallen HORNET for five minutes, but it didn't move. Deciding that it was dead, 274 crept out of the hole and went to free 2 from the net he was trapped in.
But the HORNET wasn't entirely dead. Its computer brain had taken quite a beating from the explosion, but it wasn't destroyed. Error messages scrolled before the robot's eyes as its cybernetic brain rebooted.
[PRIMARY COMMAND] scrolled before the eyes of the HORNET. [FIND---KND OPERATIVES---ELIMINATE]
The original command: find and neutralize KND operatives and eliminate any means for them to reach their destination, had been corrupted by the damage the HORNET brain had received. Now, it was gonna do what its compacted primary command stated: Find KND operatives, eliminate.
Its eyes gleamed in and angry shade of red as it stood up. It turned its head slowly and spotted 274 freeing a netted 2.
[TARGETS IDENTIFIED] the HORNET's brain assessed. [OPERATIVES 2 AND 274-- -ELIMINATE]
The HORNET tried to fly, but its wings were shattered. Undaunted, it tested its legs for a while before it finally ran at full speed towards the operatives.
274 didn't notice the HORNET running toward him as he freed 2 from the net, but 2 did. He shouted at 274. "Behind you!"

274 spun around just in time to see the HORNET jump at him, razor-sharp forelegs bared. He and 2 rolled out of the way just as the robot landed, legs digging into the snow.
The HORNET gave a mechanical shriek as it turned to face the operatives. Its eyes glowed red, murderous intent clearly being conveyed.
"Yah!" 2 exclaimed as he ducked out of the way of the HORNET's leg slash.
274 raised his beam gun to fire at the HORNET, but the movement caught the eye of the robot. It spun around and cut the gun in half. It shrieked as it jumped at 274. The operative managed to jump out of the way, but a razor-sharp leg grazed his left thigh, wounding him.
"Argh!" 274 grunted as he felt the razor edge cut the skin on his thigh.
The robot loomed over the wounded operative as it prepared to tear him apart. It raised its leg as 274 watched in horror. He saw the sunlight glint of the leg's edge as it prepared to come down on him.
"Oh no, you don't!" yelled Numbah 2 as he threw a chunk of the MOSQUITOH's fuselage at the HORNET.
The robot roared in rage as the chunk hit it in the body. It whirled on 2 and slashed at him with its leg. 2 leaned back to avoid the swipe, but he leaned back too far and fell on his back. Seeing its prey on the ground, the robot prepared to attack. It walked over to 2, ready to cut him into pieces.
"Mommy!" 2 whimpered. "I don't wanna be sliced and diced!"
Just as 2 thought the robot was gonna turn him to coleslaw, he heard the sound of SKEEBIKE engines and a happy voice yelling: "Wee!"
2 turned his head and saw a SKEEBIKE with Numbahs 4 and 3 on it. As he watched it sped toward his direction and slammed into the HORNET. The robot screamed as the SKEEBIKE slammed into it, dragging it across the snowy Antarctic ground. 4 and 3 leapt off the machine as it ran towards the edge of a cliff, dragging the shrieking robot with it.
"How'd ya like that ya overgrown bee!" 4 yelled at the HORNET.
"Yay!" 3 said. "That was fun!"
"Numbah 4?" 2 said. "numbah 3?"
Just as he finished speaking, two more SKEEBIKEs appeared. "1, 5, 30C? What are you doing here?"
"Here to take ya'll with us, of course." 5 said. "You didn't think we'd leave you behind."
"Thanks," 274 said. "But I ordered you to go on without us."
"That's what I told this twerp." 30C muttered, pointing at 4.
4 glared at 30C. "Well, if we'da followed orders 2 and 274'd be dead."
"Stop being so dramatic, 4." 30C said. "That thing wouldn't have killed them."
"Yeah?" Then how'd ya explain that?" 4 asked, pointing at 274's wound.
30C opened his mouth to answer, but before he could speak 274 interrupted him. "Alright! Enough! No more arguments. We've wasted too much time."
He turned to the others. "We've gotta get to the base before the Nerds send another of their darn robots after us."
With that, the operatives boarded the two remaining SKEEBIKEs and quicklt sped toward the base.

Nerd Star Space Station

"Bah!" Alden raged as he saw the signal of the HORNET wink out. Again, the KND had evaded capture.
"Klaus!" he yelled. "Launch the SPIDR pod at once. I want those operatives stopped!"
Klaus nodded and tapped a few keys on his terminal. After a few taps, he turned to Alden with a frown. "Der SPIDR pod cannot be released."
"What?!" demanded Alden. "Why?!"
It was Maria who answered. "Its internal systems and launching systems are malfunctioning."
"Then get it fixed." Alden said. "I want those operatives neutralized, now!"
Klaus and Maria nodded as they leapt out of their chairs and went toward the pod bay. Alden seethed in his seat, trying to calm himself down. He turned to look at his brother.
"A-a-den?" Allan asked, curiously.
Immediately Alden's expression softened, he could never stay mad around Allan. "Don't worry, Allan." He said softly. "Big Brother's just having a tantrum. I'm calming down now."
He then smiled at Allan. Seeing Alden smile, Allan started to smile again.

Author's Note: Well, that's Chapter 5. What is a SPIDR? How the heck am I coming up with these acronyms? How come I'm updating this fast? To find out the answers to t least one of these questions you'll have to wait for the next chapter, which I will try to post this weekend. Thank you and please review.
