Chapter Title: KND Victory

Sector A-6, KND Antarctic Base

A very angry 3 grabbed a weapon and leapt at the SPIDR. The robot swung a leg at her, but she twisted her body in mid-leap and caused the swipe to miss. She fired several electric bursts from her weapon at the robot as she landed. The SPIDR crackled as bolts of electricity ran through its body.
"Argh!" cried Klaus, clutching his head. The electric charge had passed through him via his neuro-cybernetic control helmet. He screamed in rage. "I'll get you for that!"
He mentally ordered the robot to fire a net at 3, but its limbs just flailed around uncontrollably. Error messages started scrolling on the SPIDR's display screens.
[ERROR, SYSTEM CORRUPTED. CANNOT EXECUTE COMMAND]
"NO!" Klaus yelled in frustration. The sudden electrical charges the SPIDR had received from the KND weapon had caused the operating systems to revert to default settings. Since the original programming hadn't been designed to receive commands mentally, the SPIDR ceased to function properly.
Klaus angrily threw off the control helmet. He took two FFGGs (Force Field Generator Gloves) from underneath his seat and put them on. He turned a hand upward and fired. The cockpit's canopy flew off violently. He crawled out of the craft and turned to face the KND operatives. His robot may have been out of it, but he wasn't.
"You!" 3 yelled at him. "You hurt Wally! You will pay!"
3 leapt at him like a wild animal. Klaus sneered as he pointed his left hand at her. "Talk to der hand." He said as he fired. The force field burst sent 3 flying backward.
Suddenly, Klaus was flung hard to one side as a large dodge ball slammed into him. It knocked the breath out of him. Klaus picked himself up and looked for his attacker. It was 2, who held a dodge ball launcher.
"I don't care if we were friends, Klaus." 2 said. "You really hurt one of my friends, and I won't let you get away with that."
"Big vurds." Klaus said. "But can you transchlate those vurds into action?"
Klaus pointed a gloved hand at 2 and sent the boy, back first, into a pile of boxes. The pile collapsed and completely covered 2. Klaus sneered in triumph. Klaus' sneer disappeared as he suddenly heard a growl behind him. He spun around just in time to see 3 slam into him. She knocked him to the ground.
"You hurt Wally, you big jerk!" she said as she started punching Klaus. "Now I hurt you!"
Klaus pushed away 3 in annoyance. He used his left glove to encase her in a force field bubble and suspended her in the air. Klaus laughed in amusement as 3 futilely tried to break herself free from the force field.
Klaus then heard the sound of boxes moving and turned around. 2 had gotten himself out from under the pile of boxes. The chunky operative raised a weapon at Klaus. Klaus just smiled and used his right glove on 2. Like he did with 3, he encased the boy in a force field bubble and suspended him in the air.
"I vin." Klaus said. He started laughing at the two suspended operatives mockingly. He was laughing so hard that he didn't notice Numbah 4 starting to regain consciousness. []---------[]
"Uh..." 4 moaned softly as he came to. He felt his head hurt and he instinctively put his hand to it. Finding his head wet and sticky, he pulled his hand back and stared at it. It was red. It took him a moment to realize that it was blood, his blood.
His head spun as he tried to remember what had happened. Try as he might, he couldn't remember how he got to where he was or why his head was bleeding. He looked past his hand, trying to get some sense of where he was.
As he did, he saw a lanky, blonde boy with his arms upraised. There was something vaguely familiar about him, but 4 couldn't quite put his finger on it. He followed the directions the boy's arms were raised to and was surprised to see 2 and 3 suspended in the air.
At first, he didn't know what was causing the two of them to be suspended in the air. But then, it clicked. It was the boy. He must be an enemy! He must've been the one who knocked him out, or at least had something to do with it. 4 looked around and saw a weapon lying beside him. It was actually 3's weapon, which had flown out of her hands when Klaus flung her to the air.
4 grabbed the weapon and fumbled with its settings. He twisted the dial to 'MAX POWUH' and pointed it at the lanky blonde boy. He pulled the trigger. []---------[]
"AHHH!!!" Klaus screamed as the burst from 4's weapon struck him. Electricity flowed through his body, causing him to spasm involuntarily. Losing concentration, he dropped 2 and 3. He managed to catch a glimpse of 4 firing a weapon at him before he lost consciousness and slumped to the floor.
"Ow..." 2 said. "Did he have to raise us up so high?"
"Wally!" 3 said happily, seeing that 4 was awake. She ran to the Aussie boy and hugged him. "Wally, I'm so glad you woke up."
"Numbah...3..." 4 muttered numbly. "What...happened 'ere?"
"Long story, man." It was 2 who answered.
Then, they heard the roar of rocket engines. They all looked up through a hole in the base's roof and saw what looked like a metal capsule heading towards them. It slowed to a hover and landed through the hole.
"Looks like it's about to get longer." 2 groaned as he and 3 helped 4 up. They slowly approached the capsule and aimed their weapons at its door. Who knew what kind of Nerd robot would pop out of it.
The door opened and the capsule's occupants started to step out. The occupants turned out to be two bespectacled girls and one boy, all unarmed. A look of surprise flashed along the girls' faces when they saw the operatives, the boy didn't seem to react though. The girls raised their hands in surrender while the boy muttered words that the operatives couldn't quite comprehend.
"Well, what do you know?" 2 said, shaking his head. "We manage to stop one Nerd, then we suddenly have three of them practically walking into our custody."
2 shook his head in disbelief. "Unbelievable."

Holding Area, Nerd Star Space Station

30C started to panic at the prospect of being left to burn on reentry. Clearly the Nerd who stood before him wanted to leave him and his fellow operatives to that particular fate. He had to think of something, fast. But what?
He looked down and saw that he was still wearing his magnetic boots. He was suddenly struck by an idea. "You friggin' murderer!" he yelled at Alden. "You're worse than the people who've ever wronged you, at least they would kill people!"
Alden stiffened at the taunt. He whirled back to face 30C, bringing his enraged self close to the operative.
"Listen, here you piece of---" Alden started to say. But 30C just smiled, the girder that pinned him and the others down only pinned down their upper torsos and partially pinned down their arms. It did not pin down their legs. 30C suddenly struck out his right leg, magnetizing Alden's right FFGG with his magnetic boot.
"What the heck?!" Alden exclaimed. 30C sneered at him.
"You let us go now or you go down with us!" he said.
Alden grunted in frustration and yanked at his right arm. The glove didn't come off, instead, his hand just slipped out of it.
"Doesn't matter." Alden panted. "I still got one glove."
Just as he finished the sentence, 30C kicked him full in the face. Alden flew backwards, for about twenty feet. 30C didn't gloat. He quickly tucked up his right foot, handing the glove to 274. 274 slipped his hand into the glove and yanked it, hard, from the magnetic pull of 30C's boot. 274 then used the glove's force field projections to remove the girders that were pinning them down.
Alden wiped the blood streaming from his nose. It wasn't broken, but it hurt. He stared balefully at 30C, pointing his hand at the operative. He fired a force field blast at full force. But 274 quickly blocked it with the glove he had commandeered.
Alden screamed in rage. He kept on blasting away with the FFGG until a small alarm started to sound on it, it was starting to short out. 274's glove was similarly stated, shielding Alden's blasts was taking its toll on his glove as well.
Finally, with slight popping sounds, the fuses of both FFGGs shorted out. Outnumbered and weaponless, Alden quickly scrambled out of the holding area. 1, 5, 30C, and 274 came after him. They chased Alden through several sections of the Nerd Star until they finally came to a stop in one room. It was the escape pod room.
The Nerd leader leapt onto the last escape pod. "So long, Kids Next Door!" he said as he reached for the switch that would shut the pod's door and launch it to safety.
Thinking fast, 274 grabbed a deactivated snake-like robot that was floating weightlessly. He hurled the ASP at the pod's doorway. The ASP flew toward the pod and lodged itself in its door just before it closed. Alden cried out in anger and frustration as the ASP jammed the door.
The KND operatives quickly dove for the pod. They put their hands to the small opening and tried with all their might to force the door open. They grunted as, inch-by-inch, the doorway's opening started to widen.
"No!" Alden yelled. "Stop that, you idiots!"
They didn't stop, they kept on trying to pry the door open. When the opening became wide enough, they quickly jumped in. The pod's door slammed shut.
It detached, taking a howling Alden and the KND operatives with it. The Nerd Star continued its fall, now devoid of any passengers.
