A/N: Hey everyone, this is my first RFR story, actually my first fan fiction. This story is suppose to happen just after part two of the season finale in place of part three. Its not finished yet but I am anxious to get reviews. Please give me good or bad criticisms.

Better off this way

After this whole situation with the RFR crew, it has caused Ray to reflect on all his feelings and friendships even more. Two days after finding out what was really going on at the recording sessions, between Travis and Lily for her single; Ray was slouched down on the couch with his head resting in one hand, elbow just ready to let his whole body go from all the thoughts racing through his head. The girl who he's loved, ever since he was five years old. And Travis, his friend who he had finally started to trust who betrayed him.

He then started to finally realize, maybe hating Travis now isn't exactly making things better. Just as he was thinking the door closing startled him. He quickly snapped out of his blank stare, it was Travis.

As he just got to the base of the stairs, he had his bag on his side and in such deep thought, he didn't even look where he was stepping and it took a few moments before he noticed Ray. They looked at each other in awe and a second later, they both said something quickly at the same time, just as if they were best friends; "Look Ray!" "Travis you know..."

Travis insisted that he speak first. Ray sat there for what seemed like eternity for Travis to get to the point. "Ray, I have lost Robbie's respect and I am sure I lost yours, but there is nothing more I can say about the situation except it just happened. Lily and I were confused-" Ray cut him off not holding on any longer "Travis, maybe I was acting like a total...loser...Ah I don't know...something." "It's okay Ray, you don't have to say it. Lily and I have talked this over and there really is nothing between us, we made a mistake. Let's just go to back to the normal us or the normal 'Tray" as you would say" he said going from a serious look to a upbeat smile.

Ray was drained of all his energy from these two days of no sleep, he finally stood up and shook hands with Travis and said, "Yes back to the normal Tray!" Ray put his hand on Travis shoulder and they both walked out of the station together.

Robbie was at the other side of the hall walking to talk to Ray at his locker like he usually does after third period. He saw Ray and Travis talking and it was as if nothing ever happened. Robbie was confused, one day Ray snaps and almost punches one of his good friends and now he is talking to the friend like nothing had ever happened. As Robbie approached, Travis patted Ray on the back and walked off not even seeing Robbie making his way over.

"Hey Ray, never thought I'd see that site again."

"Yeah, I just had to brush the dirt off and try again" Ray said.

"So things are good with you and Travis" Robbie said in a relieved voice, "how about with Lily?"

"Everything is A okay in the Ray Brennon sort of way." They both chuckled.

Ray's voice turned serious "Not quite."

"Well, better get to my studies" Ray said and walked away looking confident and also a bit nervous. With Ray, those two words went together well.
