Reflections 3: Peter

By: Karmyn

Summary: Peter's thoughts after Emma tells him about her relationship with

Steed. This is from something mentioned in Reflections

My wife is in love with another man. She says it's over, but the look in

her eyes tells me differently. She never looked at me like that, not even

when we were first married.

She tells me they were discreet, but that doesn't mean much. Society

loves to gossip and I'm sure they gossiped very much about my wife and

Steed. How long after the accident did she wait before she jumped into bed

with another man? How long did she mourn for me? How many other men

were there besides Steed?

I had women while I was in the jungle, but that's different. I had

amnesia and didn't know I was married. Besides, I'm a man. It's different for

men. It's accepted that we do things like that. Women like my wife don't do

things like this. They don't betray their marriage vows. So she thought I was

dead. Is that really an excuse?

Can I ever trust her again? How do I know that her relationship with

Steed really is over? I can't allow her to see him again. It is the only way I

can trust her again.
