Chapter One: Devil Women and Golden Girls

The day after Oriana Charon's sixteenth birthday, she was on a boat to visit Mr. Will Turner, his wife, Elizabeth, and their daughter, Polly.  The boat was called the Star Shine II.  Oriana had long, curly, golden colored hair, violet eyes, and flawless pale skin.  She always seemed to have a spotlight shining over her head, that her cousin, CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow called her "glow".  Oriana was special, because her ancestors were from a magical country called Velecroe that had sunk to the bottom of the ocean over a thousand years ago.

The pirate ship Athena, had seen the Star Shine II, and Captain Maria Diablo decided to plunder it, since it was full of wealthy English citizens.

I hope Cousin Jack comes to Port Royal while I'm there.  I haven't seen him in two years, Oriana thought.

Suddenly, Oriana heard screams and shouts coming from the deck, so up she went to investigate.

Captain Diablo knew who she was when she appeared on the deck.

"Well, if it isn't Captain Sparrow's pretty little cousin," she said, coming toward Oriana.  "Ye're comin' with me, poppet," Captain Diablo said, grabbing Oriana by the arm.

"Let me go," said Oriana, trying to free herself.

"Not just yet," replied Maria, making her way to the Athena.

On the Black Pearl, Captain Jack Sparrow did not know that his cousin was taken as prisoner on the Athena, but he did know why the rum was gone.  He had drunk the last of it, so he set sail for Tortuga to get some more.

In Tortuga, Maria had given a rather pretty and buxom strumpet a ransom note.

"Give it to Jack Sparrow.  And, ye'll get more of this," she instructed, handing the strumpet a handful of gold coins.

"Yes, miss," said the strumpet, walking off towards the dockyard.

The first thing Jack saw when he got off the Black Pearl in Tortuga was Annabelle-Lee.

"Annabelle-Lee," he said.

Annabelle-Lee slapped Jack and handed him Maria Diablo's note, before stalking off.

"Not entirely sure I deserved that," he muttered to no one in particular, rubbing his cheek.

Jack decided to go to the Tavern of the Faithful Bride, and read his note.  The note went something like this:

My Dear Captain Jack Sparrow,

I have taken Miss Oriana Charon.  Meet me at the Boar's Head Tavern at 9.15 this evening for my demands.

Very Sincerely Yours,

Maria Diablo

-Captain of the "Athena"

Oriana.  How'd Maria get her?  Are Aunt Caroline, Uncle Jonathan, and the other girls alright?  Yes, they're in England, but Oriana was supposed to visit the Turners.  (Will told him last week.)  Wait a minute, Will, Elizabeth, and Polly.  Were they alright?

Jack looked at his pocket watch, 9:10, he'd have to hurry, the Boar's Head was on the other end of Tortuga.

A/N: I hope you liked this! Do me a favor and review, even if you didn't like it!  More will come soon. Please go to to read The Legend of Orion's Treasure, the story with Oriana and her family in it. This is kind of a sequel, even though Brink's not finished with hers.
