Legolas was standing on a balcony in Rivendell. To be exact, he was on one
of the many balconies that were on Lord Elrond's tower. He had just been in
a meeting with Lord Elrond, Aragorn, Gimli and Borin. Borin was an elf from
Lothlorien, but unlike any elf there. He was a cousin of Lady Galadriel,
but didn't look anything like her. He had brown hair a little below his
shoulder, that was thick and straight. He never spoke a word, and if he did
you forced yourself to listen. Whatever he said was always
important.....but not as important as what Legolas had to say.....
Legolas sighed and looked out at the small waterfalls and the lush, green trees, and the cheerful little singing birds. He may never see them again. Lord Elrond had just informed the three of them that Sauromon the White might be at large again. The last that the Fellowship had seen of him, he had been stuck in his dreaded headquarter tower when the dam had broken and the water had run free, thanks to the trees. Legolas stared only a little bit longer, taking in every little detail. Who knows if he would ever see his small home of Rivendell again. He decided that he had better be back with the group again, so he turned and walked through the arched entrance back into the small and dimly-lit room. Everyone was doing there own thing. Aragorn was sitting with his face to the wall, puffing on his pipe. Lord Elrond was bent over a piece of parchment, his face scrunched up and concentrated. Borin and Gimli were no where to be seen though. Legolas looked around and interrupted the silence. "Where might Gimli be?" Aragorn stopped puffing and looked around at Legolas blankly. "Down at the blacksmith's. Sharpening his blade I think. Andif you are wondering where Borin has got to, don't ask me. That elf is too mysterious....." Aragorn turned again and stared at the wall. Aragorn was a Ranger, and was used to wandering, but this was too much for him. Only exactly one week ago had Frodo, Gandalf and a few other elves gone to the Gray Havens. Everyone was greiving the loss. Especially Aragorn. He became close with everyone he rode with at least once. Legolas sighed and went off to find Gimli or Borin.....which ever one he ran into first. Legolas skipped every two steps down and jumped the last five. It would come in handy sooner or later he thought, smiling. He walked through the entrance hall and his footsteps echoed throughout it. As he walked through the vast and detailed entrance doors, the sound of mingling people met his ears. He heard the sounds of people laughing, shouting orders, crying and laughing. He made sure that he took all this cheery noise in. He skipped along again, waving hello to passing people. As he walked, he saw a row of guards marching toward him. He wondered what was happening. Soon he saw that they were guarding Lady Arwen, Lord Elrond's beloved daughter, the love of his life. He stopped and watched her walk by, her face hidden from the crowd by a dark blue hood. He caught himself staring and kept walking. He made his way to the blacksmith's shop and reached it.
