Chapter 6
In a secret chamber, Riku was trying to discourage Kairi from continuing her plan.
"Kairi. Don't do this. I lost you once. I don't want to lose you again. Please."
"Riku. I can't have him saying he loves me. I know he does. But-. I just can't handle it. Anyways. I'll beat him," Kairi reasoned.
"Plus. He won't dare hurt me."

The Heartless came back for Sora. When he got outside, he looked around. He saw Riku's seat by the ring. Riku sat there. But no sign of Kairi.
"The final tournament! The continuing champion. Sora! And his component. Kairi! Ruler over the Heartless!"
Kairi walked out into the ring. She circled Sora.
"Welcome to my world Sora. The Heartless obey me. You have never felt that power," Kairi said.
"And I don't want to. Are we going to fight or not?"
A bell rang for the fight to begin. Kairi and Sora circled each other. Then Sora lunged at Kairi. She let him hit her. It was all part of her plan. She did that for a while. Then she jumped into action. When Sora lunged at her, she moved aside. Sora fell to the ground and the Keyblade slid out of his hand. He reached for it. He had it in his hand. But Kairi stepped on it. She picked it up. She was in position to stab him with the Keyblade
"Do you give up Keyblade master?" she asked.
"No Oathkeeper."
Kairi was about an inch away from stabbing Sora, when someone yelled, "Don't touch him or you'll have to deal with us!"
Sora looked around Kairi. Donald Duck, Goofy, and King Mickey were standing there.
"Donald! Goofy!" Sora exclaimed.
Then it clicked that they expected Sora to do something. They wanted him to take the Keyblade and finish Kairi off. Sora did about half of what he was expected to do. He took the Keyblade. Kairi looked at him.
"I want to destroy this," Sora said. He tried to break the Keyblade in half. But it just wouldn't break.
"Don't!" King Mickey yelled.
"It won't anyways," Sora replied.
"I don't need the Keyblade to destroy you," Kairi said.
She started a whirlwind, with fire in the middle. The whirlwind came closer to Sora. It was inches away from hitting him, when he said, "I give up." Kairi stopped the whirlwind.
"You give up?" Kairi asked. She was shocked.
"Yes. Because I can't hurt you. I love you. And love stops you from making mistakes," Sora said. He held out the Keyblade to her. "I lied in the field. I choose to be like you. A Heartless. Your servant," Sora said.
"You mean it is a choice? It's not destiny?" Kairi asked.
"You didn't choose?" Sora asked.
"No. It was destiny."
"Then I can't be- that makes sense! The Oathkeeper will try to destroy the Keyblade. I give it to you. Because I love you," he said.
He looked at the Keyblade. Do I keep it or destroy it. he thought. Sora held it out to Kairi. His hand opened. She put her hands on his. Then she closed his hand around the Keyblade.
"Keep it. I love you too."
Kairi fell to the ground. Her heart came out of her body.
"No!" Sora gasped.
Riku was at her side instantly.
"You will never see her again. I will find her heart," Riku said.
"No. I am sorry. No one will ever see her again. You all disobeyed me. You shall pay."
Sora looked to see where the voice was coming from. He had tears in his eyes.
"Maleficent."
"Oh yes. It was me. When she turned evil, being she was the Oathkeeper, she was cursed. But she could break that curse, just as it was started," Maleficent said.
She then disappeared. Kairi too. Sora fell to the ground. All his years. Precious years with Kairi. And he couldn't even keep one promise. The most important promise he had ever made. To take care of her always. Donald and Goofy ran to his side. King Mickey walked over, slowly.
"Sora!"
"Leave me alone. I have to find Riku," Sora said.
"I'm right here."
Sora walked over to where Riku stood.
"Sora. Let's go home. I think we need to do something we never finished," Riku said.
He looked at Sora. Then he held out his hand. Sora grabbed it. Sora closed his eyes. It seemed as if Riku was reading Sora's heart. When Sora opened his eyes, he was on Destiny Islands, looking out over the ocean.
"Riku. Why did you let the Heartless get a hold of your heart?" Sora asked.
"I think we need to finish what we never finished before all this mess started," Riku said.
"You mean our sword fights. I thought that was just fun," Sora said.
"Now it isn't."
They walked over the bridge to the island where they used to fight. Sora pulled out his wooden sword. Riku pulled out a Keyblade.
"I thought we were using our swords?" Sora asked.
"Well. Being we have the Keyblades, let's use them," Riku said. Sora took out his Keyblade.
"On my count. Three. Two. One. Go!" a voice said.
Riku and Sora circled each other.
"Is that all you got?" Riku taunted.
Sora leaned forward. His Keyblade at his side. Ready to awing his Keyblade. As Sora was about to swing his Keyblade in a combo, Riku called a time out.
"We never decided what we are fighting for."
"But. We shouldn't have to kill each other in a fight. We don't have to fight," Sora said.
"Yeah right. Are you kidding?"
It was then that Sora realized that he wasn't fighting against his best friend. He was fighting against an enemy. Sora walked past Riku and looked out over the ocean. All he could see was an endless blue sky and the ocean. He could hear Riku testing his Keyblade. He heard footsteps behind him. Sora could feel a Heartless was near him. Actually right behind him. He turned around and thrust the Keyblade into the things heart. Sora didn't take any time to see who he was attacking. If he had, he would've known that he had just sent the Keyblade into Riku.
But when he heard Riku say, "You are very brave for trying to destroy me. But I am too strong for you. You will be remembered."
Sora was sure he wasn't going to live to see the next morning. As he pulled the Keyblade out of Riku, he felt a charge throughout his whole body.
"I wish we could find Kairi. Then things would be like they used to," he muttered.
"Sora!"
He looked to the beach. Donald, Goofy, and King Mickey were standing there. King Mickey looked troubled. Sora looked to Riku, but Riku was walking towards Donald and the others. Sora ran after him. When he reached everyone, Donald and Goofy were puzzled. There were two Sora's.
"Donald. Goofy. Pick the real Sora. Follow your heart."
Donald and Goofy looked to King Mickey. He nodded. Donald and Goofy talked quietly among themselves. Then they walked over to the two Sora's. Donald hit the first Sora on the head with his staff.
"Hey! What was- Oh now I remember."
Then Donald went to hit the second one on the head, but the Sora stopped the staff. Donald and Goofy talked among themselves again. Then they stood next to King Mickey.
"We know who the real Sora is. It is the one that I hit on the head. He knew what we were doing," Donald said. The fake Sora was none other than Riku.
"Riku?"
"You don't understand Sora. You don't know what I was trying to do. You were just in the way. You were always in the way. Kairi never liked you. She was just playing with you. The whole entire time. And I promised I'd always help her," Riku said.
"Would you give her your heart?" Sora asked out of the ordinary.
"I'll find her heart," Riku answered.
"But what if Kairi needed a heart. Would you sacrifice yours?" Sora pressed.
"It's none of your business."
"Oh what? You don't trust me? I thought we could always trust each other?" Sora said.
Riku was quiet for a minute. "Stop asking such heart filled questions. I'll see you in the Place." Riku disappeared.
"Do you know where the Place is?" King Mickey asked.
"No."
"King Mickey has a surprise for you," Goofy said.
"I'm not in the mode for surprises," Sora said, with his head lowered.
"I think you'll like it," Donald said.
"You guys. I was only going to give it to him if only one other thing would cheer him up," King Mickey said.
"Nothing can cheer me up," Sora said.
"What about having all your friends back?" the king asked.
"No."
"How about getting Prin- er Kairi back?" Goofy asked.
"There is no way. Kairi's gone. Forever," Sora said.
He looked at the sky blankly.
"Is she the one that was at the Coliseum?" King Mickey asked.
Donald nodded.
"The seventh princess. She was not fully revived," King Mickey said to himself.
"Don't you dare say that! My Kairi is not a PRINCESS!" Sora yelled.
"Sora!"
Sora looked to where he and Riku used to have their sword fights. Seven people were standing there. They started to walk towards him. He started to walk backwards. Away from them. He couldn't take his eyes off of them. In Sora's eyes, they were Heartless.
